Cask @ Society Room, JDW. Dark ruby-red colour, medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark fruits, bit of licorice. Flavour is roasted malts, light coffee, sulphur, sour fruits. Ok stuff, and evidently better than the bottled version.

Cask at the Central Bar, JDW. Pours a clear, rich copper-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Bready malts in the nose with some hard caramel. Fairly sweet, very doughy flavor. Some lightly tart citric bitterness. Light to medium in body with average, smooth carbonation. Mediocre finish, some messy malts, light bread and faintly astringent hops. Um, it’s ok. Pretty basic.

Spoons Fest! Clear brown beer with a some semblance of a white head. Semi dry palate, low carbornation. Mild dark malt and some minerally apologetic hop (orange). Trace of banana. Inoffensive, drinkable, utterly unremarkable.
