(Cask at Skylark JDW, Croydon, 25 Nov) Golden amber colour with frothy white head. Fruity nose with orange, mandarin and fresh floral hops. Fruity taste with mandarin, orange, apricot and nice, balanced citrussy hops in the finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle, Co-op, Axminster, Devon, 11-11-06 (different label to that shown) Poured very dark brown, instantly came across as a good strong beer, nice aroma of roasted malts and with some bitter chocolate. taste strong, but suprisingly smooth, roasted notes, even liqourice tasted in this good bottled beer.

Cask (handpump) at The Cottage Inn, Cannington TA5. Brown beer with bubbly head. Particularly malty beer with strong contrasting flavours, there is a rich nuttiness overlaid with a light barley flavour. Good standard hoppy finish, a very decent beer.

Cask (handpump) at Malt Shovel Inn, Cannington TA5. Bronze colour, good head and low level of fine natural condition. Initialy nutty aromas become malty with hints of toffee then finaly some sweatiness. Low but balanced flavours of caramel and hops, with a hop bitterness developing into the finish

cask handpull at Market Porter. Amber with thin off white head. ESB bitter with some fruit, some yest, some hop. Very acceptable ESB, but nothing special and I was a bit pissed by this stage.

(Cask at Market Porter, Borough, London 22 Apr 2006) Colour is mid brown to dark copper. Malty nose with hints of brown sugar and toffee. Taste is malty, nutty (hazel nuts) with a mild bitterness in the finish. Not really complex, buat a nice session bitter.

Cask gravity at Battersea Beer Festival 2006. Last beer of the festival for me, so thanks Chris for getting it before I went. Chestnut colour with bubbly beige head. Eggy yeasty aroma with good deep malts in the mouth. Some choc, nice finish: Very malty beer:

Cask handpull at Westgate, JDW, Canterbury. Chestnut colour with bubbly beige head. Slightly yeasty, bit thin in mouth, but good red berry malts, bit sweet. OK bitter

Cask at County Hotel JDW Ashford. Golden beer with a slightly creamy aroma, good creamy head and both malt and hops. Excellent balance. Did not get all the flavours that Silk did, but a better pint than the one chris_o had. Bit better than the normal golden ales
