Pint at The Shrewsbury Hotel, Shrewsbury, recommended by the bargirl. Pours ruby red. Has a faint sweetness to the malts that brings out the bitterness. Not bad at all.

Cask at the Craven Arms, Birmingham. Poured a deep brown colour with a reddish hue and a frothy tan head. The aroma is weak malt leading to a weak bitter flavour with a slightly sweet red berry fruit palate and not so much of the oatmeal as I expected. A super smooth ale and the right ABV for a session.
