Cask at the Spa Lane Vaults, Chesterfield. Pours lightly hazy yellow gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light white grape and kiwi. Taste is a bit more resinous, earthy almost. Chewy finish.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a pale straw with a small foamy almost white head and good lacing. The aroma has sweet malts and leafy hops plus some citrus. In the mouth it is initially a battle between sweetness and bitterness but the latter wins out and becomes dominant. Flavour is floral hops, grass and hints of citrus and lemon. Finish is a bit sticky. This is reasonable but not exactly exciting.

Handpull cask at the Jolly Brewer, Stamford. Rebadged as Three Lions Pride for the World Cup. Sigh. Copper/amber and clear with a small film of beige head. Malty aroma, a little bit of plum. Bittersweet taste, a little balsamic vinegar, leading to a bit of bitterness. The lighter side of medium in the body, a little oily, not carbonated. A pretty fail-y Beer.

Cask at the Barrel Vault, St Pancras on 2nd May 2026. Clear gold with shallow white foam affording full lacing. Light herbal grassiness in aroma. Grassy hops in-mouth and late maltiness culminate in a bittersweet finish. Light body and a crisp mouthfeel.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Lightly hazed, dull pale yellow with a barely-there white head. Very watery with bitter lemon, butter and a touch of spice. Not great.
