Can - thanks MWBrady12. Pours hazy amber with a quadrillion floaties. Oh-oh. Small white head that dissipates quickly but leaves nice lacing. Aroma is not strong; citrus pine and caramel - pretty standard stuff. Flavor is actually pretty pleasant for an IPA that is clearly past its prime. Nice citrus and pine dominating, a bit of sweetness, medium bitter through to the finish. Full bodied and intensely creamy/oily mouthfeel - 5+ for that one! This is a good beer, I am extremely interested to find out what it is like when fresh. Rerate with a two day old can. Ok, this is an amazing beer when fresh.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s, London during The Stouts Tasting, Pt. II - huge thanks to Wally for this one. Pours thick, oily black with a dense, creamy brown head. Torched wood in the nose, some hefty dark chocolate, good roast. Medium to big sweet flavor, rich dark chocolate, some dark earth, burnt wood, dark fruits, some woody dryness. Full bodied with fine to average, creamy carbonation. Warming finish, some burnt marshmallows, robust chocolates, some chocolate syrup, bittersweet baking cocoa, earthy bitterness, burnt wood, some booze-soaked dark fruits, raisins. Quite wonderful.

Canned, at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. Hazy deep golden, small head. Citric pineapple aroma. Mid sweet with clea, rounded mouthfeel and medium-full body. Juicy and citric with quite bitter finish. One in the crowd.

Hazy golden color. The aroma blends the right amounts of resiny and zesty hops. The mouthfeel is very dry, lean, with delicate malts in the background, piney and resiny hops dominate, bit of pithy bitterness too in the final.
Modern IIPA, one of the first, excellent.

Hazy golden color, with small creamy head. The aroma is quite earthy, with some light manure. The body is leaner than expected, but the mouthfeel is smooth enough; strong flavor of malt, toffee, light crystal-like flavor too, moderate residual sweetness; strong bitterness, the hop provides a lot of resins, some bitter orange, but no freshness, and just a minimal fruity touch, it provides instead some sweaty and earthy character. Long final, quite balanced.
Good, but I'm not impressed at all.

Can 473cl @ Geokkjer
Pours hazy deep golden/copper with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus, grape, orange and peach. Taste is medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter with a long warm, citrus and tropical fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Can, from trade with the little grumpy old Dane. A not-so-cute golden-orange beer with some floaties and a finger-thick off-white head leaving lacings. The aroma is really hop-driven, leaving little room for the malts. Peaches, pine cones, grapefruit peel, resins and some alcohol. It’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated, with some warmth. Nice bitterness, and lots of hoppy aromas. Sufficient amounts of malty sweetness blends in. Lasting finish with the hops dominating, and so much bitterness it leaves a feeling of having drank a dry beer. A rather wonderful beer. 130222

Can from RB trade; hazy amber off white head, Simcoe hop bitter tropical hop resinous mouthfeel. Had a fresher can probably only a couple of weeks old and my god this is so drinkable, tropical hop freshness hitting my tastes buds big time.

1 pint can (trade with Leighton). A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white fluffy head on top. Hoppy, citrus, grapefruit aroma. Tastes of grapefruit, hoppy, citrus fruit, pine, slight marmalade taste, slightly malty with some bitterness. Pretty good stuff, almost in the Kernel mould.

Bottle. Pours with a deep, black hued body that completely coats the glass. Aromas are of deep chocolate, nutty, iodine, bread, light licorice, deep roast. Flavors are nutty, iodine, chocolate, cocoa, bready, toasty, warming. Medium-low carbonation, slightly thinner body than I was expecting with the style and the name. Nicely warming. Well balanced.
