Gravity cask at the 2019 CAMRA Rutland Beer Festival, Rutland County Museum. A Festival special. Dark, dark brown, a bit muddy/hazy, with a ring of khaki head. Chocolate malt aroma with molasses and Marmite notes. It's a sweet beer, but not overly so. There's an earthy bitterness anchoring the taste. Slate, biter cooking chocolate and espresso in the aftertaste. A typical strong English porter (and all the better for it).

Gravity cask at the 2019 CAMRA Rutland Beer Festival, Rutland County Museum. Light reddish brown, very clear with a thin layer of beige head. Muted malt-focused aroma with hints of coffee, hazelnut, cola. The taste is sweet and nutty at first; however there is a strong earthy bittering hop which carries to the long finish. A good mild with an enjoyable balance.

Cask. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Mostly clear gold. Thin suds of lasting, white head. Nose has biscuit grain. Sweet lemon. Some pineapple. Some peppery hop leaf. Taste has a light sweetness. Decent hop leaf bitterness. Light body. Fine carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. Nice one.

Handpull cask at Broood, Leicester. Amber and clear with a thin white head. Floral and grassy aroma with turpentine and TCP. Should I drink it or dress my wounds? Bitter taste with a medicinal bite, leading to more TCP and a woody dryness in the finish. Not crazy about this.
