Bottle shared with Sarkynorthener cheers Martin; hazy dark brown pour with a creamy light tan head, aroma has dark fruit and a hint of smoke, taste has smoke peat, dark fruits, hint of chocolate, ok.

Cask @ Fat Cat, Sheffield. Clear brighter golden coloured ale with a small head. Hopped in its character, it’s slightly dry tasting with a very mild berry-fruitiness.

Sample from a cask. Blacker Hall Farm Shop, near Wakefield. Clear cold. Bubbly, white head. Nose has cereal grain. Lemon hop. Bready malts. Taste is soft bitter, with bready sweetness. Thin body. A bit dull, really. Short bitter finish.

Cask @ Old Post Office, Halifax. Brownish-red with a thin head. Has an easy supping, possibly thin texture, but one with a mild grainy-sweet taste, that’s tasty enough. There’s a similar nose.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Clear golden with next to no head. Easy-drinking golden ale with a light hoppy character as and a small berry-sweetness in its nose.

Cask @ Sowerby Taps, Sowerby Bridge. Black with a thick frothy off-white head. Has a fairly mild roasted malt aroma and taste making it a more crisp tasting ale than anything else.

First tried in cask at the Cuthbert Brodrick in Leeds. Clear golden with a creamy-frothy head. Has a nice easy-drinking texture with a light gingery character. Retried on 'Mad Friday' 2025 as Beer#10. Tenth brew on one of the busiest drinking days of the year, and it is busy! Clear golden good-looking ale. Hoppy with lots of tasty sugars, which I guess kind of makes it a wintery ale.

On cask at the Black Swan in Pickering. Appearance - golden with a decent head and a slight haze. Nose - nutmeg and cinnamon with ginger predominantly. Some biscuits. Taste - same again. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - for a Christmas beer this wasn’t bad.
