Cask @ The Hebden (formerly The Pub), Hebden Bridge. Golden with a creamy-frothy head. Sugar-hoppy taste, with its strength playing a part in this. Has a similar nose.

6th Floor bottleshare with the usual suspects. Thanks to LKS. Pretty much a clear brown beer, no real head. Palate is light and crispy, semi dry. Thin dark malts, watery even. Whisper of roast, a few esters way back in the background. Wine? Pretty subtle. Inoffensive bit a bit bland to be frank.

Proper old school bitter! Chestnut brown with a creamy tan head and a floral, earthy malt aroma. Smooth and light, some floral bitterness up front with a nutty malt flavour and a dry finish

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Dark brown body with a short-lived beige head. Lively carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of red wine, cherry, smoke and rust. Flavour of dark chocolate, red wine and soy sauce. Thin body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Unique and interesting. Incredible value for a barrel-aged 750ml bottle.

Black beer, light tan head. Smells malty, woody. Flavour has the same, with some fruit, wood from the barrel again, a smokiness and a red wine hit too. Nice body, lovely balance to it. This is quite interesting and very tasty.
