York Beer Festival 2024. Golden-amber in colour. Good depth through its strength, which is evident in taste. Hoppy beer but its bitterness is a more dominant feature. Light tropical fruit evident in both aroma and taste.

Bottle at home in Hackney - scooped up from HOTM. Pours copper-gold with a frothy, off-white cap. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of sun-baked bready pale malts, some oily pine, subtle citrus, crackers, dirty hay. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Finishes bitter with grass and pine, more sun-kissed malts, some citrus peel. No nonsense here.

Bottle gift from my brother – drank at home. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a sizeable but transient tan head. This proved to be a surprisingly fruity beer. Roasted malts and dark fruits in the aroma. In the mouth the fruits came first followed closely by toffee and malts then some hints of liquorice and alcoholic strength. Slightly bitter overall but with underlying sweetness – more bitterness and hints of spice in the finish. Started off decent and got even better – I like it !
