Description
Blue Bee Brewery is an independent brewery in the heart of the valley of beer in Sheffield, England.
Blue Bee was set up in 2010 by Richard Hough, former head brewer at Abbeydale, who has also done stints at Acorn, Crown, Spire, Raw and Marble. Starting his own brewery allows him to use this invaluable experience on his own terms, creating beers that are noted for “quality, consistency and with a slight addiction factor”. In 2014 the business was acquired by Reet Ale Pubs, which runs three pubs in Sheffield.

Cask. Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield. Clear, pale gold. Frothy suds of white for a head. Nose has sweet cereal. Pineapple skin and grapefruit. Some floral, soapy notes. Taste is crisp, pithy bitter. A little dry, and a little astringent. Some sweetness on the finish, but mostly it’s dry and sharp bitterness here.
