Cask at the Shakespeare, Sheffield. Shared with JmGreenUK. Thick creamy tan head. Clear dark pour. Nice hint of bitterness with hints of coffee and chocolate. Nice stout.

Cask at Shakespeares, Sheffield. Clear straw coloured pour with a thin broken head. Yeasty Malty aroma that developed as the beer got warmer. Very distinctive bitter taste with a typically NZ hoppy aftertaste that sits on the palate. It won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I liked it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask (handpump) @ Rutland Arms, 86 Brown Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England S1 2BS.Clear dark black colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, burnt caramel, roasted, burnt, dark roasted. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, dark roasted, light soy sauce. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111020]

Cask at Shakespeares, Sheffield. Copper coloured pour with no head a and completely flat. Sounds like the ex-wife :-). Almost no aroma at all and with a strange malty flavour which I find hard to describe. It's almost medicinal! A nice ale but perhaps not for a session. On gravity tap at Sheffield Festival - a golden body with little or no head, a hoppy bite with a citrus kick. Okay, but would prefer handpulled I guess.
