Cask (handpump) @ The Habit, 40 Goodramgate, York, North Yorkshire, England YO1 7LF.Clear medium orange amber with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, nutty, light to moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, hoppy, fruity, caramel, riped fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130122]

Bottle 500ml.Light unclear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale bread, grain, pale malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, malty, fruity, grassy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130127]

Cask at the Black Heart - London. Pours clear brown with a fine, foamy head. Lightly tangy dark malt nose, with hints of earth and cocoa. Light sweet flavor, some mellow cocoa, low bitterness, subtle tangy semi-dark malts, perhaps some fruits. Light in body with soft carbonation. The condition is wanting. Light sweetness to finish, some toasty bread, mild cocoa, dirt. A so so beer in sub-par condition.

Cask at the Lyric, Soho. It pours deep amber with a medium off-white head. The nose is earthy, polished wood, orange peel, potpourri and floral notes . The taste is wood, dried fruit, preserved orange, toast, earth, caramel, floral, decent amount of bitterness, spice and varnish with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good depth of flavour for this sort the style. Decent.

Cask at the lyric, Soho. It pours deep amber with a medium white head. The nose is wood, leather, varnish, wood polish and earth. The taste is wood, earth, varnish, leather, bold bitterness, some astringency and zesty citrus notes with a long dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent hopped-up mild concoction.

Appearance: Clear golden color with a white head that leaves some lacing.
Aroma: Mild malty, mild grape hoppy and mild fruity.
Palate: Medium body. Moderate sweet and a fine bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild malty, soft grape hoppy and fruity.
Overall impression: Nice ale. But lacs a lot of hopp before you should call it an IPA.

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours. Lear, yellow-gold with a fine, tight white cream head. Lightly tangy tangerine in the nose, some pithy lemon and grapefruit, straw. Medium sweetflavor with decent bitterness, some lemon and other citrus rinds, a bit of dry white bread, faint grass, hints of minerals. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Fair balance to finish, more rindy bitterness, sand, lemon and tangerine. It’s decent stuff overall but could improve with some tweaking.

500ml bottle - Hazy brown body with an off white head. Aroma of toffee and caramel with citrus and nuts coming through. Similar flavours with a sweet smoothness in there, with a kick of dried fruit at the end. Nice balanced beer, and much better than I expected.

Cask at The Last Drop Inn. Pours dark amber/copper with a creamy beige head. Light floral aroma. Med body. Flavor of moderately roast malt with light floral. It’s not very bitter in the finish.
