Cask at the Black Heart - London. Pours clear brown with a fine, foamy head. Lightly tangy dark malt nose, with hints of earth and cocoa. Light sweet flavor, some mellow cocoa, low bitterness, subtle tangy semi-dark malts, perhaps some fruits. Light in body with soft carbonation. The condition is wanting. Light sweetness to finish, some toasty bread, mild cocoa, dirt. A so so beer in sub-par condition.

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours. Lear, yellow-gold with a fine, tight white cream head. Lightly tangy tangerine in the nose, some pithy lemon and grapefruit, straw. Medium sweetflavor with decent bitterness, some lemon and other citrus rinds, a bit of dry white bread, faint grass, hints of minerals. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Fair balance to finish, more rindy bitterness, sand, lemon and tangerine. It’s decent stuff overall but could improve with some tweaking.

500ml bottle - Hazy brown body with an off white head. Aroma of toffee and caramel with citrus and nuts coming through. Similar flavours with a sweet smoothness in there, with a kick of dried fruit at the end. Nice balanced beer, and much better than I expected.
