Duncan Sambrook founded Sambrook’s Brewery in 2008 when there were just five breweries operating in London. With his vision of bringing brewing back into the heart of London, Duncan pulled ex-brewer David Welsh out of retirement and back into his dungarees and wellies. To

Since 2008 we have been brewing beer in Battersea, but after 12 years on our current site we have decided to relocate a mile up the road to Wandsworth Town. Later in 2020 we will be brewing beer on the site of the Ram Brewery where we will launch our new tap room and visitor centre.

Cask at the London Brewers Showcase. Pours clear amber with a mild, white head. Malt and bread aroma. Flavor has mild sweetness, with notes of dough, butter and caramel, followed by modest hops. Also hints of popcorn and herbal hops. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Finishes lightly sweet, bready and with some light bitters.

Cask at the London Brewers Showcase. Pours clear, orange-gold with a soft, white head. Light hop and malt aroma with some honey and grass. Fairly sweet with more honey, plus mild spice, bread, corn flakes and some earthy bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Lightly bitter finish with some lingering bread notes. Decent.

Gravicask, half pint at Bree Louise, Euston. Deep, dark brown body. Filmy head. Smell of dark fruity malts. Roasted flavour with dark caramel along with fruity notes. Mild and dry bitter end. Good bitter (London, 28.09.2010).

Cask @ Bree Louise, Euston NW1. Pours a clear copper color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty slightly spicy hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy flavor with some spicy hints. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish.

@Harp. Light golden-bronze with some haze. The aroma is a bit appley, maybe even a bit of butter. The palate is appely, but with some nice Maris Otter nuttiness. Decent pint - if a bit thin and underdeveloped.

Cask@The Bree Louise. Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is fruits, caramel malts, some grass and mild wooden notes. Flavour is caramel malts, wood, fruits, grass sap and ends quite bittery.

From cask at Bree Louise. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is mild fruity. Slight malty. Sweet malty, slight breadish and caramelish. Mild fruity and citrusy hoppy. Bitter and bone dry finish.

Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. Dark amber pour with a beige head. Disappointing nose. A little caramel and toffee in there but no much else. Caramel, nuts and butterscotch flavours. Sharp hoppy finish. Pleasant enough.

Cask (handpump) @ The Bree Louise, 69 Coburg Street, Euston, London, England NW1 2HH.Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, moderate hoppy, light citrus - orange, blackcurrant notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20091230]

Cask at the Duke of Wellington, London on 14th April 2010. Copper with partly lacing white head. Pungent fruity and hoppy. Full of flavour, lemony citric finish on a zingy mouthfeel.
