500ml Bottle from Sainsbury's. Deep gold in colour, with a slight, white head and moderate carbonation. Tangerine fruit and citrus hop aroma. Flavour had some robust, chewy, malts, more orange fruit, and a finish that was lingering and pretty dry. good.

Keg halfpint, as Portobello London Pilsner, at The Shakespeare, London Victoria. Golden colour, moderate white head. Moderate aroma, some malts and herbal hops. Crisp and refreshing flavour, well hopped. A decent classic pilsener - no more, no less. One of the best British brewed pilseners I’ve had.

From cask at The Lyric, near Piccadilly Circus with Sigmund 21.09.22. Translucent dark orange amber. Dense and persistent off-white head and lacing. Absolutely superb aroma and taste of pale malt, crustal malt, amber malt, succade, dried fruits and mellow bitterness. This must be as close as one can get to the ultimate bitter. Served in perfect nick. Excellent!

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a small foamy cream head. Not much of an aroma – just some vague berry fruits. Fruits and berries more to the fore in the mouthwith hints of cherries also and an underlying biscuit base. Later on some toffee comes into the equation. Can really say anything more than “drinkable” due to it having come from the “Spoons chiller” – needs a rerate really.
