26/10/2022. Can bought at Pyrmont Cellars (Porters Liquor) Pyrmont. Enjoyed at Novotel Darling Harbour on our last night in Sydney for a while. Pours almost black with a small beige head. Aroma of light roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, berries, touch liquorice, sugar puffs and damp grains. Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Medium body, quite clammy, soft carbonation. Can design promises so much but it doesn’t truly deliver.

8/10/2022. Can. Enjoyed this on board Qantas flight QF002 from London to Singapore. Pours hazy orange gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma is tropical, orange, citrus, grass. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Moderate body, average carbonation. Fairly basic pale but a much better beer than I’d expected to find on the flight.

Can. Hazy pinkish with a white head that fades to a frothy 1/2cm. Pineapple & dragonfruit? I might have guessed guava & hibiscus. Tangy with crackers behind. Very sweet taste with a little tanginess and that sense of pineapple fighting back by trying to digest your tongue. No bitterness. Pleasant enough but not very beery.

The can goes to some lengths to tell me the barley's origin, where it's grown, about heroes and mates but keeps schtum about where it's brewed. Pretty much black with a cm of beige head that fades to a fat coat. Aroma of roast, licorice, chicory is fairly intense. Falls away a bit upon a sip with some caramel as well as roast, licorice & coffee. Indistinct bitter finish but it does linger.

Copper. Definitely a bit on the malty sweet side. Has some nice C hops. Finish is caramel and bitter. Meh.
