Bottle. Very dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of bitter oranges, ash, coffee, dark fudge, some berries. Really luscious oaty texture, lowish carbonation. Sweet fudge and mocha, strong singed flavours, some oily citrus. Bitter chocolate finish. Intense flavours for 6%. Assertive burnt and ashy flavours but enough sweetness and lovely smooth texture make it work for me.

Bottle received as extra in trade. Thank you stoutnick! Pours hazy golden with a rather small frothy white head that leaves lots of sticky lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is fruity with crackers, cookies, grapefruit juice, moist grass, yellow winegums, pineapple juice, pine needles, orange zest, lemony soap and lemon zest. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter and fruity with white bread, grapefruit juice, overripe tropical fruits, sugar, orange zest, lemon zest, minerals, moist grass, pine needles, kumquats, chives and star fruit. Mouthfeel is soft, round, slightly astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and fruity with white bread, grapefruit juice, kumquats, peaches, moist grass, pine needles, minerals, chives and star fruit. Solid IIPA! Possibly a bit too sweet...

Bottle, 11C. Clear gold, white head fades to 1cm and hangs around leaving spots of lace. Low bead. Aroma of oranges, lemon leaves and flowers, lychees, dried mango skin. Low carbonation, mouthfeel just short of syrpuy. Very sweet, slightly honeyed hayish malt - no caramel at all (woo and furthermore hoo). Citrus flavours ooze on though and take over. Bitterness doesn’t seem that high and there’s no abrupt snap towards dry at the end - it just gently overcomes the sweetness and leaves a gentle waft of citrus aromatics at the end. Alcohol is felt after a little while but there’s not much sense of it in the aroma or mouth. Very lovely indeed. [4.1]330ml bottle. I wonder what bb 11/04/18 means - probably bottled April 17 but hard to be sure. But again, sweet - no caramel - but good. Lots of hop character but it’s never allowed to be harsh. Fabulous beer. Leaving the score as it is but would cut appearance to 3 yielding 4.0.

Big black beer with a massive beige head. Aroma is relatively hoppy, spicy, fruity and velvety. Taste has also something soft going on, maybe coming from oatmeal. Strong roasted flavours that are nicely balanced with malt backbone and fragrant hops.

Looks like a red ale, plum-like. Velvety aroma, very fruity and sweet. Fresh. First sip feels extremely resiny, all throughout. High in hops and has some kind of sour note in the finish. Nicely balanced body. Easygoing and easily drinkable IPA. Very enjoyable.

Deep amber color. Very sharp piney nose with grapefruit and candided apples with a hint of caramel. The mouth is medium but lacks a bit of balance. Needs a bit more malt. Moderately aggressive finish.

Bottled at Cookie, Melbourne, Victoria. Cloudy amber, mid sized head. Rich aroma of pear, gooseberry and passion fruit. Bone dry with light body and crisp, clean mouthfeel. Aromatic hops are given all attention, and it’s utilized fully. Slight roasty malt stays well in the background. Intense bitter finish.

Pours amber with a large lasting head.Nose shows pine, peach, floral hops, sweet rich clean malt and resinous notes.Similar fruity hops as flavours along with a little pine. A fair whack of sweet malt follows along with a biting, piny bitterness.Nice mod-high carbonation.
