Cask at the St. Albans Beer Festival 2013. Poured a very dark brown, almost black colour with a thin halo of tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit with an earthy bitterness. Coffee flavours with liquorice and prunes. Palate continues with some sweetness of molasses and toffee balanced by lingering burnt malt.

Cask @ The Liberty Bounds, JDW, Tower Hill EC3. Pours a ruby amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty spicy caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

Gravity cask at the Duchess of Cambridge - London. Pours clear gold with no head. Nose has tangy citrus and light bread. Light sweet flavor, tangy berries, wet wood. Light bodied with no carbonation. Further tangy malts to finish, semi-ripe fruits. Out of shape.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Deep golden amber in colour with a thin cream head; aroma of purple fruit and demarara sugar; soft and grainy in the mouth and surprisingly full bodied, with a Barley Wine oily feel, some caramel sweetness but nicely balanced by some sour grains; the finish is dry and smooth and overall this was much more than I was expecting.

Medium creamy offwhite head. Clear deep-yellow body. Cannot really pick up any aroma. Dry-sweet resiny floral caramelly taste with grassy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, flat, soft mouthfeel. Dryish floral spicy caramelly aftertaste with grassy wooden roasted almonds notes. Nice, drinkable. A pleasant session beer. (0.284l cask at Pier Inn, Whitby.)

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Thanks to Dan (essexcalf) for this one. Almost opaque dark brown beer. Little pale tan head. Palate is light and semi dry with fine carbonation. Tastes like a tangy Bounty Bar! That is to say - sweetish coconut with a little chocolate. Mild generic fruits underneath. Light dry finish. Nice sweet beer!

Aroma: Deep malty, light fruity and mild hoppy.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: A fine malty background, mild hoppy and rich fruity.
Overall impression: Maybee a bit unbalanced. Very fruity.

Cask at Far from the Madding Crowd, Oxford on 24th April 2013. Clear gold with thin white head and spot lace. Intense aroma of biscuit malts. Delicate in-mouth with biscuits and floral hoppiness. Finish is very fruity with berries/gooseberry fool, all of these notes light and giving space for the others. Light mouthfeel with touch of clinginess, and the body is medium.

Aroma: Banana and malty.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild banana and caramel malty.
Overall impression: Surprisingly nice and easy drinkable.
