Handpulled cask served from bar 2 at NWAF. Half, shared with Finn. Coal dark coloured body. Missing head. Inviting sweet liquorice drops to the nose. Dry liquorice taste, lightly spiced. Slightly roasted ending. Ok (Manchester, 24.01.2013).

Cask by handpump, half pint picked up at bar 2 at NWAF ’13, shared with Finn. Crystal clear golden body, no head. Lemony hops to the nose. Taste is made up by fruity hops added by ginger. Mild and semi-dry, bitter endnotes and lingering ginger. Average (Manchester, 24.01.2013).

cask at NWAF ... deep dark brown black .. thin off white head ... huge aniseed nose ... dark roast ... soft malts ... mellow smooth and big big aniseeed... rich mellow and complex .. low bitterness ... quite pernod!! and blackjacks

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green - 30/09/12. Clear dark golden verging on amber/brown with a bubbly off-white head. Sour nose, touch of bretts (although I don’t believe they were used on this beer), some toffee. Taste largely follows the nose, sour tones, dark fruit, very slight hint of the banana in a banana/toffee chewy sweet kind of way also a little nutiness and spice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation with a smooth bitter & sour finish. Interesting beer which I rather liked, although I’m not sure it was intended to come out this way? One that was hard to categorise also. I was tempted to add as spice/herb/veg, but played safe with golden, feel free to amend!

Bottle from Darts Farm. Hazy golden, no head at all. No carbonation, malty with some nice hops and a Whisky-like alcohol touch, but quite thin.

Cask at the Star and Garter, South Wigston. I expected better after being told by the barmaid that it was selling well. Light aroma. No head and heavy lacing. Little real flavour. No aftertaste. It looked and tasted like a pint of Carling! Wouldn't buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask (not sure where, maybe a Spoons, but almost definitely somewhere in London). Pours clear brown with a foamy head. Cereal, pleastic, earthy hops in the aroma. Light sweet flavor, some sugar, cereal, faint earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Some plastic and grass and dirt and messy malts in the finish. Not memorable.

Cask @ Knights Templar, JDW, Chancery Lane WC2. Pours a slightly hazy pale amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma. Fruity malty caramel and weak chocoalte flavor. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

Cask at the John Logie Baird (JDW), Hastings. Murky amber with a dense cream head; sweet grainy aroma; smooth with a grainy texture and a little sour fruit; the finish is thin and watery with perhaps a touch of toffee. Really poor.
