Description
Hello and welcome to Brothers Cider, the home of the original festival cider. We are Francis, Jonathan, Matthew and Daniel and for 14 generations, since 1658, when uncle Gabriel first sold his barrels around Wells, Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury, our family has strived to make light, refreshing ciders using a variety of fruit. We are constantly exploring new recipes and love to get your feedback on our latest creations.
We first started selling our Pear Cider at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995 near what was then called the Jazz World Stage. These days it is called The West Holts Stage but our bar is still in the same place. Over the years, festival goers kept asking us if it was possible to get our drink when the festival was over and so we decided to market it to pubs and supermarkets. Now you can get it all over the country and at other festivals besides Glastonbury. See you at the bar!

Bottle from B&M Bargains, Halifax. Reddish-pink coloured with a stated strawberry flavour, but never overbearing. It's sweet with a small creaminess to proceedings. Has a soft carbonation.

9/6/2019. Bottle, sample, courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear pale violet with a short lasting off-white head. Aroma is just like a pack of parma violet sweets (which I hated as a kid so I was hardly likely to enjoy this made into a 'cider'). Very sweet and scented. I suppose it achieves what it intends, but didn't like this at all.

9/6/2019. Bottle, sample, courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear pale pink with a short lasting bubbly white head. Aroma of sweet artificial strawberry, just like strawberry and cream sweets. Heavy sweetness, nothing else. Moderate body, sticky texture, above average carbonation. Sweet sticky finish. I mean, it does what it says on the label, but really glad this rating is over.

Bottle from B&M, Rochdale. Purple-pink in colour, somewhat dry tasting with the parma violet aroma akin to the candy sweets of the same name. This is apparent but a little less stated in taste where its cider elements come to the fore, which has a sweetness and a lot of perfume about it.

330ml bottle from Home Bargains, Darlington. Pale purple colour, short-lived fizzy white foam head and aroma of parma violet candy. Taste is sweet, perfumy, sherberty, parma violet candy flavouring, along with laundry liquid. Light bodied, foamy carbonation, sweet candy finish. Very artificial, some weird flavours coming through

330ml bottle from Home Bargains, Darlington. Pink colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of jammy strawberry flavourings. Taste is sweet, sugary strawberry, jammy, chewing gum, candy with some vanilla and creamy flavour notes. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, sweet finish. Very sweet and artificial.
