On cask at the Ship Inn, Caton as Caton Cask. Appearance - amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - toffee and sweet malt. A suggestion of citrus. Taste - sticky toffee, light nuts. Dry biscuit. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - a decent bitter.

Sep. ’16. A 0.33 l bottle from Mali Ducan, Split. It poured a bit hazy golden body with smaller head. Weaker malty and citrus aroma with a touch of some fruits from its malts. Flavor was bitter, with herbal and pine bitterness dominating over light honey and bready malts. Medium to full bodied with moderately long, lightly bittersweet finish. Okay, but just that - pretty simple and not thrilling, even lightly unbalanced, inclining a lot to a golden ale. Unconventional IPA, expected more of it.

Cask (gravity) @ NWAF 2015, National Winter Ales Festival (2015), The Roundhouse, Pride Park, Derby, Derbyshire, England, DE24 8JE. [ As Thwaites Symphonic ].Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, light beige to beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, blackberries. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, black berries, artificial, chocolate, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150213] 6-3-7-3-14

0.33 l bottle from Pivoteka. Retro tasting session by Hrabren’s Choice. Shared with Višnja. Clead golden, small off-white head. Herbal aromas, malts underneath, quite clear, light to medium hopped, light mint. Sweet malty, perfumed. Soft carbonation, light to medium body, abrupt finish. Compromises, trying to make something acceptable.

On tap @ El Cervcero. Ambar, nebulosa, espuma blanca. Aroma no muy marcado, ligeramente malteado. En boca tiene caracter malteado y ceral también con notas de té y madera y amargor moderado creciente, tirando a herbal.

Bottle at Craft Beer Rising 2014 - London. Pours clear amber-brown with a creamy, off-white head. Quite basic overall. Some sugary brown bread character, light ripe fruits, subtle earthy hops. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, with lightly toasted and spicy pine, more sweet bready malts. OK stuff on the whole.

330ml bottle: just out of date. Poured into a Duvel glass at home on 28th Oct 2016. Lovely clear deep golden body, full white head. Pleasant aroma, almost white wine like, less citrus smells looking at the hop varieties used. The same in the flavour, wine like (semi-sweet) not as citrusy as I expected (pleased about that actually). Overall a nice blend: nothing strong or provocative, just an easy going fairly sweet beer with enough flavour to keep your taste buds guessing.

Bottle: Deep golden with a reddish sheen,stable creamy off-white head; moderate fruity and pale-malty nose with distinctive piney-hoppy aromas and a tinge of soy-sauce; moderate dryish bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and pretty soft; lingering malty and solid bitter-hoppy finish with hops sticking to the palate without being agressive. A very reasonable and well balanced english IPA...

L’intensità olfattiva è elevata e la persistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello è di schiuma compatta, cremosa, aderente e si conclude con un pizzo sul vetro. La grandezza delle bollicine è finissima. La consistenza del liquido è limpida. La carbonazione è praticamente piatta. Il colore è ambrato carico. Il corpo è medio. Il dolce è medio ad equilibrare l’amaro medio. L’intensità gustativa è normale e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali sono di facile beva. Il finale è pulito e semplice. Il retrogusto è sfuggente. L’aroma in bocca riporta sentori di caramello, pane, erbe e cereali.
