Description
Anno 1520, das Bayerische Reinheitsgebot war gerade mal vier Jahre alt, wurde unsere Brauerei erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Was folgte, war eine Erfolgsgeschichte, die mittlerweile ein halbes Jahrtausend andauert.

Natürlich wandelte sich in dieser Zeit vieles. Doch eines blieb immer konstant und hat die Jahre überdauert: das Streben nach einem Bier, das den regionalen und überregionalen Vergleich nicht zu scheuen braucht.

Als familiengeführte Brauerei ist die Franken Bräu Garant für die Bierkultur unserer Heimat. Wir sehen darin eine hohe Verpflichtung, die wirtschaftliche Existenz und Führung des Unternehmens auch weiterhin in privater Hand fortzusetzen.

Golden, sparkling, with a thin head. Has a herbal, slightly grassy aroma. Flavour is the same with a fairly full body and herbal notes.

50cl bottle from Bierzwerg. Poured dark brown color with a frothy head. Aroma is slightly sweet sugary and roasted malt. Flavor is chocolate and caramel with some roastedness. Bit thin, but overall very drinkable. Liked this one. Similar to Köstritzer I think.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Deep amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is toffee, some mild roasted notes, mild dark dry fruits and some slight ashes. Flavour is toffee, dark dry fruits, mild roasted notes as well as some slight ashyness.

Bottle. Lemon gold with a thin head. Fruity aroma with some spice. Quite sweet with a sour / bitter hop finish, interesting.

Hazy/murky dark orange color, big off-white cloudy head. Aroma has sweet overriped banana, hints of vanilla. Crisp carbonation. Reasonably good body for being only 4.9%. Overriped banana and unclean yeastyness dominate the flavor. Light smokey feeling too. A bit odd.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized white head that leaves nice lace. Aroma is bready malts, some herbs, mild grassyness along with some slight earthyness in the background. Flavour is pleasant bready malts along with some slightly sweeter malty notes as well as mild saltwater and herbs. Ends rather grassy and malty. Very smooth and nice.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear golden colour, large and creamy white head. Malty-fruity nose. Sweet and malty, full-bodied, with nice accents of vanilla and honey plus lots of spices and marzipane. A very pleasant beer.

Golden color, small white head. Grassy, cardboardish aroma. A bit watery palate for 5.4%, grassy hoppyness, some cardboard. Ok, but uninteresting.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is milld toffee, some grassyness as well as bready malts and wood. Flavour is strongly malty with some slight herbal and saltwatery notes. Mild earthyness as well.

Bottle. Creamy white good ostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter slightly bready flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. Boring but OK.
