Description

(Bottle, Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 23 Feb 2013) Golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity, malty nose with citrus, bread, grass and hay. Malty taste with notes of bread, citrus, grass, a slightly soapy wheat flavour and a certain lemony bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and fairly tasty. Hardly exciting, but quite decent.

Cloudy gold beer, small white head. Dry crisp palate. There some pleasant fruit but also odd dusty yeast with a hint of soap. Finishes semi dry. Wonky! 2.4
30th October 2013
Aged version. Clear gold beer, little white head. Lactose sweet creamy malt. Light tangy orange, lesser dried fruits. Finishes soft. Mellowed nicely!

Cloudy amber beer, little white head. Light frothy and airy palate, dry. Turns creamy. Sweetish malt base with a touch or orange and honey. Finishes frothy and airy. All right but somewhat over carbonated.

Very hazy gold beer. Little white head. Light palate, dry and crispy. Sweet fruit salad sweets with creamy malt and mild minerals. Finishes with a real carbonated bite. These Spelt beers are always interesting.

Bottled (old backlog). Slightly hazy yellow colour with some stuff floating around. Mediumsized creamy white head that leaves quite a nice lace. Aroma is citrus, zestyness, some yeast as well as some sweet grainy notes. Flavour is wheatlike, mild spices, yeast, citrus and some slight toffee. Some slight notes of alcohol to be noted.

Bottled. Copper colour with a mediumsized fluffy to foamy slightly off-white head. Aroma is sweet malts, mild toasted notes, toffee, some berries, spices and mild raisiny notes as well. Flavour is wood, mild toasted notes, sweet caramelly malty and mild toffeeish and yeasty notes. Pleasant in flavour, though aroma was a bit out of balance.

Pigs Ear. Hazy amber beer. Palate starts soft but turns crisp and then back to soft and frothy but with a carbonated sting! Great palate! The blackcurrant is nicely judged and neither too sweet or to acidic. Finishes semi dry with some minerals.

300ml bottle. Minimally cloudy browny golden colour with average bubbly white head. Artificially sweet and strong alcoholic aroma, fluid gummy bears. Thank god for the fizzy carbonation that keeps one from death by instantaneous agglutination of the digestive tract. Horrible beer.
