(Draught at Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 4 April 2007) Reddish brown colour with foamy beige head, cloudy. Malty, spicy nose with distinct estery aromas of banana and chocolate. Malty, spicy taste with chocolate (more than in the aroma), banana and clove. Full, rounded mouthfeel with balanced sweetness in a long, consistent finish. Alcohol well hidden, making this very balanced and enjoyable.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Cloudy yellow, creamy head. Estery, somewhat fatty banana aroma. Swet and fruity with notes of paper. Understandably light bodied with spitzy mouthfeel. Sweetness gets a little in the way of drinkability and there is a very light touch of metal that reveals it’s low gravity. Still very full flavoured for it’s size, and I need to admire them for making a Leichtes Weisse taste so real.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Golden colour, clear, fairly small head. Buttery pop corn aroma. Fairly sweet with rounded mouthfel. Really low on hops with strong buttery flavour. No bitterness. Butter dominates completely.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Pale golden, compact head. Papery malt aroma. Fairly sweet with dense mouthfeel. Dominated by buttery malt. An easy drinking beer with a quick malt flavour followed by light salty bitterness.

Draught at Monk’s Café, Stockholm Clear golden, airy head. Distinct spicy grassy hop aroma. Dry, fairly crisp and light bodied. Interesitng mustardy spicyness which is unusual for a German pils. Very dry and slim. Lingering bitter finish with a touch of metal.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm Clear deep golden, rich airy head. Buttery malt aroma. Sweet and fruity, generously malty with some buttery vegetables. Rounded mouthfeel, but it lacks the desired malt softness. Fairly low bitterness. A bit disappointing.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm Clear pale golden, firm rocky head. Papery alt aroma. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Light bodied with notes of cranberries and metal. Low bitterness. Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Clear mahogany colour, small head. Distinct hazelnut aroma. Fairly sweet with loads of hazelnuts. Some butter and roasty malt, clean rounded mouthfeel, medium body. Low hop rate and bitterness. Nutella-beer? Intense and pretty good.

Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Cloudy dark brown, lively head. Coffee nose. Sweet with burnt banana and caramel. Medium bodied with filling mouthfeel, caramel takes over in the finish. No bitterness. More solid than refreshing.
