Bottled at Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Cloudy orange, airy but firm head. Surprising perfumy orangey hops dominate aroma and flavour. Bready with fairly soft spritzy malt. Medium sweet and fairly light bodied. Lacks the malt depth of the better kellerbiers from further north in Bavaria, and the hop character is altogether different. Perhaps thid is due to the usage of a top fermenting yeast strain?Low bitterness.

Bottle, 5.0% at BBF07. OK banana aroma. Cloudy caramel colour. Banana flavour, slightly citric. Big and stable, creamy head.

Mild-wässriger Antrunk ohne klare Konturen, angedeutetes Malz, angedeutete Hefigkeit. Im Mittelteil weiter verkrampft, nichts will hervortreten, das Bier ist labbrig und zunehmend unattraktiv. Kurz hefig, dies wird durch das prickeln übertöhnt. Darunter ist zusätzlich eine leichte Säuerlichkeit zu erkennen. Im Mittelteil eher langweilig, sehr mild, aber immerhin erfrischend. Säuerlich-malziger Nachgeschmack. Test vom 29.8.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,9,9,9,6,9 - 8,95

Mild und süffig beginnt das Bier, und im Prinzip bleibt es auch so. Die leichte Getreidenote gefällt, aber der malzig-metallerne Mittelteil und Nachgeschmack machen auch die letzten Hoffnungen auf ein gutes Bier zunichte. Wässriger, etwas herber Nachgeschmack. Draught @ Monk’s Café, Stockholm. Pours a hazy dark amber color with an off-white head. Sweet malty and slightly spicy aroma with hints of banana and caramel. Sweet malty banana flavor with hints of yeast and caramel. Long malty finish with warming banana hints.

Leicht fruchtiger Antrunk (Koriander?), leicht säuerlich. Eine sanft Malzigkeit kommt auf, bleibt aber außerordentlich schwach, aber nicht unbedeutend. Etwas saurer wird es hier ebenfalls, aber keinesfalls so sauer, wie man es von vielen Weizenbieren kennt. Weiterhin sanft fruchtig-würzig, ausgeglischen und vollmundig. Zuletzt wird das Bier etwas stäärker, ein herber Ton zeigt sich. Gelungen, keine Frage! Test vom 29.5.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,11,12,11,14,12 - 11,70

Draught, 5% as Riegele Privat Hell at Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà, Rome. Clear golden colour. Big stable white head. Slightly malty flavour, a little sweet. Low bitterness. Rather boring, but clean.

(Draught at Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Golden yellow colour with huge white head. Malty, grassy nose with toffee notes. Malty, grassy taste with notes of citrus and pineapple. Initial malt sweetness leading to a drier, nice grassy bitterness in the finish. Hops leaning slightly in the Czech direction. Classic pils, solid but unadventurous.
