Bottle. Pours slightly cloudy dark amber with large foamy beige head, woodsy aroma mixed with caramel, medium carbonation, mellow slightly salty caramel taste, longish bitter finish. Very smooth and drinkable.

500 ml bottle purchased at Redstone Liquors. I am now buying beers not because I think I will like them but I base my purchased simply by things I have not sampled. Yep that is the point I am at now...... Anyhow, the color is a hazy pale yellow with average carbonation level. Aroma is mild citrus, rice and something similar to grassy note.
Well, the rice does make this different. Lighter body with a grassy rice finish. ( if that makes any damn sense) light lingering notes of citrus and a cream of wheat mouthfeel (more cream than wheat). Ok to try it out. And with no bottle date of any kind, hard to know if the hops faded.

Pours gold into a tulip. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Damp hay aromas. Sweet and dry with bread and hay front to back. Mild bitter flowerbed finish.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: pours black with a creamy head. Aroma is vanilla. Taste is way too much vanilla. Not a fan. Maybe I would be if I like vanilla more.

Bottle at Chriso easter tasting. Thanks to Leighton? Dull low brown coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is nice citrus lemon, honeysuckle, pine hop. Flavour is a little soapy, piney, lemon hop, little toast. Decent. Palate is medium light body, little soapy, solid hop bitterness. Decent maybe a little soapy.

From a 750ml bottle on 27/4/2015 (birthday present courtesy of my wonderful wife). Pours a cloudy dark brown with a medium head. Has a pleasant nose featuring some chocolate malt and light fruity hops. The flavour follows suit, with sweet dark malts (chocolate, caramel), some citrus fruit (orange), and a reasonably firm dash of hops, with just a hint of roastiness in the bitterness. Full bodied with a thick texture and average carbonation. Not the wildest big black IPA out there, but nicely balanced (though ultimately falling on the sweet side) and very cohesive.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Very hazy deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and a little crisp. Dry dark malts, mild but bringing some bitterish dark chocolate. Spicy bitter pine. Little minerals. Dry crisp finish. Bitterish linger. Not bad.

Bottle at ChrisO, thanks to Leighton. It pours clear deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, bitter-sweet, varnish, cocoa and dark fruits. The taste is bitter-sweet, roasted malts, earth, varnish, pine, dank action, pepper, ash, dirt and a touch of citrus rind with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate+ carbonation. Pretty alright.
