Description
Our Ales Of Outstanding Natural Beauty are brewed right here beneath the chimney at Holmes Mill. Just behind our famous Beer Hall a dedicated team of artisan brewers craft a collection of cask beers inspired by the outstandingly beautiful landscape of Bowland.

Bowland Brewery started life as a microbrewery on the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making a selection of beers named after the scenery and wildlife of this picturesque corner of Lancashire.

Cask handpull at Market Porter. Decent amber ale. Some biscuit. Tasty enough, decent amber biscuit bitter.

Cask (gravity) @ NWAF 10, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear medium to dark red brown color with a small average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate, spicies / herbs, light licorice. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100120]

Cask (handpump) @ NWAF 10, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. On gravity at the Hillgrove Porter Stores, Bristol 7/08/10. Dark, ruddy brown with a decent, off-white head. Caramel, some berry fruit and milky coffee notes, before a decent, dry finish. Good.

From cask. Pours clear and golden deep brown with a small orange glare and an off-white to tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and slight fruity. Fruity and caramelish. Slight bitter.

Cask. Clear warm orangey brown with a creamy off-white head leaving laces. Nutty aroma. Medium body, dried fruit and a little burned caramel - hardly any hard roasted malts. Some licorice in the finish but a very subdued bitterness. 200110

Cask handpull at The White Star, Liverpool. Mid brown, and has some diacetyl some ok malt in mouth and some hop sting on the finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2009. Pours a golden color with a small white head. Has a fruity malty hoppy aroma. Fruity malty hoppy flavor with hints of caramel. Has a fruity malty hoppy finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.
