12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 10/2014. Pours slightly hazy ruby red color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of caramel, toasted bread, brown sugar, lemon zest, orange peel, apple, date, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, spices, and fruity yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of caramel, toasted bread, brown sugar, lemon zest, orange peel, apple, date, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light amount of herbal/spice bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, toasted bread, brown sugar, lemon/orange zest, apple, date, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of dark/bready malt, spices, and fruity yeast ester flavors; with a nice malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly dry/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice winter warmer style. All around good robustness and balance of dark/bready malt, spices, and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

12 oz. bottle thanks going to fishmich on this one. Pitch black, thin lasting tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate with some light vanilla.
The flavor is a decent Porter base but not much in the way of bourbon or oak. Deep chocolate notes, light traces of earthy malts, prunes, various dark fruits light caramel. Thinner body, with a chocolate sweet finish.

Aromas of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, oak, bourbon, toast, dark bread, licorice, smoke, light vanilla, herbal, and roast/oak earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, bourbon barrel, and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, toast, dark bread, oak, bourbon, licorice, smoke, light vanilla, herbal, and roast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, toast, dark bread, oak, bourbon, licorice, smoke, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good robustness and solid complexity of dark/roasted malt, bourbon barrel, and earthy hop flavors; with a nice malt/barrel balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, moderately creamy, and slightly bready/chalky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very solid barrel aged Baltic porter style. All around good robustness and solid complexity of dark/roasted malts, bourbon barrel, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.

This porter poured a deep black colour with a rocky, tan coloured head. Scents include vanilla, caramel and a little coffee. First swig had a little watery mouthfeel but the flavour of vanilla, cocoa, coffee and roast made up for that. Finish is roasty and sweet with roasted vanilla flavours lingering.

Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon zest, orange peel, grapefruit, herbal, floral, grass, light pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops and pale/bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon zest, orange peel, grapefruit, herbal, floral. grass, light pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of earthy pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, orange peel, grapefruit, herbal, floral, grass, light pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and balance of citrus/earthy hops and pale/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice pale ale. It felt like a blend of American and English styles. All around good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy hops and pale/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a large amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, apple, pear, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Okay aromas with solid balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast notes. Pretty weak in strength and too fruity on the nose. Taste of lemon, pear, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and slightly dry mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a nice and pleasant Kolsch style beer. Good balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Aromas of fresh blueberries, pie crust, toast, chocolate, light caramel, and light herbal hops. Very nice aromas with good balance of blueberries and dark/bready malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of fresh blueberries, pie crust, toast, chocolate, light caramel, and herbal earthiness. Fair amount of roasted bitterness and slight tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of blueberries, pie crust, toast, chocolate, light caramel, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of blueberries and dark/bready malt sweetness; with a solid malt/bitterness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Would have liked less bitterness to let the blueberries and malt sweetness have better presence. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with no warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good fruit beer. Good balance and robustness of blueberries and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered thick red-orange body. Steady off-white/bneige head. Not much of an aroma. Big, caramel thick sugary old school American IPA. Not bad, but not really good in any way either. Pretty drab. Crystal malt overload. Very glad I didn’t buy a six pack.
