Tasting at Ferris’, can
Blond color, small head. Cereally malt aroma. The malt flavor has too much cereals and straws; correct bitterness, lightly herbaceous.
Clean, simple.

Single can from The Beer Store. Pours a clean, real deep amber colour with a big frothy warm cap, great retention and coating the glass with a creamy layer. Smokey aromas of burnt wood with sweet darker malts. The taste starts off with the burnt flavours and some sweetness from the malt covers things. A nice wet, easy-drinking dark malty-sweet beer with some nice smokiness, but a little too light and sweet for my full liking. The smoke is nicely done though.

Bottle. Chocolate syrup, malt, and herbal hay aroma. Dark brown with large light tan head. Sweet chocolate, roasted barley, and mildly bitter hay and ash flavor. Good body. Kind of dark for a Vienna - seems more like a dunkel in both appearance and flavor.

Bottle: Pours dark, ruby-lit brown/black with a frothy beige head. Dark, roasty caramel, chocolate aroma. Flavour is roasted and rich....slightly black-pepper accented caramel malt..chocolate, cola.....maybe even a slight whiff of smokiness. Light, but not watered-down... Curious about the low ratings on this....I thought it was a bit dark for the style, but pretty tasty.

This easier poured a cloudy yellow colour with a white, fastly dissipating head. Scents include grapefruit, and???? Light ginger ale? First swig was quite nice with flavours of pineapple, grapefruit and sugar! Finish is syrupy sweet with almost a citrus candy flavour lingering.

Only available in a 24 for now, but comes with an extra can of Laker Ice.. woot ! Pours a clean golden colour with an amber hue. The head is pretty big, foamy, soapy, lasts pretty good and lacing is nice. After having a few in a bottle last night, I thought this would be a real cheap brew, but it is showing a little more promises. You can smell so decent hops, but mostly grain in the background. The taste starts off with some bitterness, but not as strong as most IPA, and this is where you feel the cheaper ingredients. Rusty water, a little corn, etc. Not bad for the price, but not one to drink too much. 24 is a bit excessive... but it is Canada Day after all.

Can. A clear, pale golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma is rather weak, but some grains, hay and corn escapes the glass. It’s faintly fruity on the palate, thin on the palate, and soft. Grains, some notes of corn and fruityness and a touch of hay in the flavor. Maybe some bitterness too, at least in the finish. Fortunately it doesn’t smell of taste much, as what is isn’t very interesting or good. 150618
