Pours a clean lighter-than-average amber colour with a big creamy head, good retention and loads of lacing. Smells decent at first (caramel malt), but changes into an amber adjunct malt, sweet and grainy. Not a bad mouthfeel with some creaminess to it. Flavours of grain, adjuncts, sweet malts, mild hoppy bitterness. Too bad for the adjuncts as this looks good, feels good, but not much else.

Surprised to see a deeper golden-amber colour (expecting light gold). Good massive light-beige cap with pretty good retention, leaving some wavy creamy and foamy lace. The nose is no-way near an IPA nose though. More like an amber ale aromas of grain with the typical Brick’s fake hops in the back. The taste has the caramel malt with some bitterness appearing in the middle, and mild burnt malt in the finish. With time, rusty water chemical hops show up. Taste better than it smells, and a little closer to an IPA than Keith’s version, but still miles away from a real true one.

Single can from the LCBO. Pours a slight hazy, light golden colour with a soapy white head, staying for a while, but all of a sudden disappearing and leaving minimal foam. Sweet grapefruit juice aromas that get sweeter with notes of pineapple with its syrup. The taste is sweet as well, but not as syrupy as expected. Light bodied, light grapefruit with high fructose corn syrup ?? Much prefer the Stiegl version for a dime more.

Can: Poured a light yellow color beer with a medium size bubbly head with medium retention. Aroma of grapefruit juice is quiet intense with some residual sugar notes. Taste is also dominated by grapefruit juice notes with quite bit of residual sugar notes. Body is thin with good carbonation. I know this has almost nothing to do with beer but I actually enjoyed the refreshing notes of overly sweet grapefruit juice.

Part of the newer PC brews from Brick. Pours a cola-brown colour with a frothy beige head, decent retention and minimal lacing. Mild aromas of roasted malt with some rusty water hops that disappears with time. Malty watery taste with not much, but hints of wheat bananas. I must admit that drinking this one from the can was not bad at a party.

This lager poured a really dark red colour with a nice tan coloured, minimal head. Scents include medicine, sweet malt and cherries. First sip was smooth with flavours of cherry, lightly roasted malt and a little wine in the background. Finish is medium sweet with malty flavours lingering.

This amber poured a light amber colour with a big, off white coloured head. Rocky head. Scents include metal, dough and hay. First swig was very smooth but a little watery with flavours of honey, leaves and cereal. Finish is slightly sweet with honey/malt flavours lingering.

Pours a light golden colour with a small frothy (and not too fizzy) white head. Real pear fruit smell, but it seems like apples as well (even though not written in the ingredients). Not too powerful as well. Sweet tasting and again, not too much pear, but just fruity overall. So, a mild pear cider that is not pear in-your-face and not on the dry side of things.

Pours a clean amber colour with a decent warm cap, fizzing away slower than normal with even a ring around the glass. Sweet aromas of red apples with notes of other fruits. Wet mouthfeel with just a little stickiness at first, but not much for mouthfeel. Starts off sweet with the apples, other fruits and hints of honey. The finish is a little short. Not bad and nice to see an amber cider, but nothing too over-the-top.

The only new beer in the Waterloo Seasonal Collection 6-pack can mixer. Pours a dark brown with some good red highlights. Big foamy light brown head, good retention and lots of thick soapy lace. The taste is a little more powerful compared to the nose, with roasted malts, hints of cocoa and light notes of molasses and coffee in the finish. A nice strong porter that goes down easily and above the mass produced market, by a notch.
