Description
United Dutch Breweries in Breda was created when the Belgian Interbrew closed the Breda Oranjeboom brewery in 2004, which it had taken over in 1995. Oranjeboom's export department carried out a management buy-out and continued independently with Oranjeboom's brand portfolio, which was acquired from Interbrew. The beers are not brewed anymore in Breda but elsewhere.

A golden pilsner with a thick collapsing white head. A chalky malt aroma, with spent grains. In mouth, a chalky adjunct laden lager with mineral notes, metallic hops, medium bodied, cloying. Bought at Carrefour, Bogota, Colombia, for 3000 COP (1.50US$).

Dull murky headless absolutely nasty looking brew. That’s what I get for pouring it into a glass. This is supposed to be swilled from a can in an alcoholic stupor. The aroma is full of alcohol, apple and paint. Horrid paint-tasting with lots of alcohol. A harsh drunk, but only when compared to Chinese knockoff Chanel No. 5.

It started off looking like a beer, but that didn’t last long. Dull strawish colour with no head. Smells like plastic. Plasticy taste with some fruity notes. Cloying alcoholic finish. Sink.

Had this at the Pittsburgh Great European Beer Festival at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium 6/2010. What a name! No orange in this stuff. Typical lager appearance. Smell is a little fruity and fine. Haylike flavors. Easy and nice on the taste buds. Gracious. A very good lager. Good CO2 all round makes it even more enjoyable. Goes down nicely, I liked this brew. Pleasant finish. One of the better experiences at the fest. Pleasantly surprised, much better than most american lagers.
