Cloudy yellow color, medium lasting white head. Aroma of hops, some sour fruit. Very hopbitter taste, nicely balanced. Bit dry palate.

bottle at brewtopia - I can’t really decide if this is a very IPA-like belgian, or a very belgian-like IPA - either way this is some tasty stuff - I’ve been reluctant to try any de ranke beers since a bad experience with their noel, but this stuff rocks - very spicy, hoppy, and yeasty - I never thought these characteristics would work well, but man do they ever - this shares a lot of aspects with a well-aged bottle of DFH 90 Minute IPA - this is a belgian that seems to be designed for us crazy American hop-heads - this does not disappoint.

Fresh bottle, 2004. Dull light burgundy colour. Opaque. Aroma of cherry, slight old wooden barn - dry and musty. Fairly tart, lovely sour taste, slightly woody, lots of cherry, and subtle hints of sugar. Excellent stuff. 7.8
2016 bottle, 2026. Hazy and purplish. Soft body, not much carbo. Good cherry note - not super bright but it's still there. I wouldn't call it tart or buggy, but it's balanced, with a light juiciness.

The aroma is sweet cherry with out being too sweet. The color is a clear red and it has a collapsing pink head. The flavor is lovely; sour, dry wood, cherries, lemon, and grapefruit. A lovely beer.

A hazy orange beer with a small brown collapsing head. The aroma is sweet fruity. The flavor is sweet spicy with notes of cinnamon and coriander before a dry end sets in.

On tap at Map Room 2004. Fairly light beige-gold-yellow. Small foamy white head. Smells hoppy and papery, like lemon and orange pulp and mildly papery/floral hops. Quite dry. Flavor is very dry as well, mostly hoppy, with a touch of sweetness coming in late. Finish departs from the IPA thing it has going and gets funky, lots of nice yeasty flavors, grassy, herbal, doughy and slightly cheesy. Interesting and quite unique.
On draught Feb 2005 at RedbonesVery refreshing, but yet has ample body and flavor. Starts out with hops and gets yeasty/lightly cheesy. Lots of herbal notes in here, and all in all a tastey beer. Still a bit of paperiness in here that I dont like, though. Upped the flavor a point.

Pink head, fairly lacing and fully diminishing. Bottle conditioned, large particles and a thin density. Red, cloudy body. Cherry aroma. Lightly acidic, lightly bitter initial flavour. Moderately acidic, lightly bitter long finish. Oily texture. Lively mouthfeel. The brewer told me that part of the flavour is due to 30% Girardin Lambic in this beer. And you can surely confirm it when you smell and drink this marvelous beer.

Orange with reddish shine, hazy; white-pinkish head, dense, not stable. Very fruity nose, in descending order citrus, strawberry, Japanese pear, lactic acid,Brett, estery. Fruity and bitter taste, at the edge of tart. Bitter melon (faint), arbutus fruit (I'm searching it)), and quite some piney hops (obvious). Medium to full bodied. Tartness to dry-out effect. Remarkable beer, astride on several styles. This brewery deserves a lot more recognition. And God, I was up to some decent Belgian ale.

Blond color, creamy head. Nice aromatic hop in the nose; light cheesy ammonia. Poor malt, but very good hop extraction, tastes really like the flowers. Aromatic palate, of course; dry. Unusual, but I like it.
