Tap at CBM Toranomon. Salmon pink-orange, glowing. Superfine pink head. Light candy cherry in the nose, with sakura mochi. Creamy, slightly sweet, light tartness, cherry blossoms. Fun beer and quite good.

Tap at TBE Brewing. Very nice lemon nose with some grass and herbal notes as well. Body is ultra thin with average carbonation. More lemon...almost like a sports drink or chuhai in this regard. Tap at Q-Brick. Brown with orange tints, cloudy. Estery nose, oranges, peaches, yeasty. Spicy, cola-like flavor, a bit roasty, chocolate, spicy Belgian-like yeastiness. Not there for a BW.

Tap at the Star Board Tap Room. Pretty deep purple color. Great, juicy cassis nose, lots of berry richness, but not all that beery. Sweet, yet not overly so. Fruity, a rather bit seedy finish and bitterness. Good fruit drink, not all that beer-like.

Tap at the Star Board Tap Room. Lemon, estery nose, cloves, some banana. Hazy golden color. Estery flavor, herbal, lemon, wheat. Weizen-like with herb and lemon. Nice citrus flavor, good body.

On tap at Starboard and Portside. It poured a clear gold with a thick fluffy head of foam. Coriander, pepper & wheat in the nose. This is definitely a witbier. The taste gave me flavors of coriander, celery salt, white pepper and wheat. Light bodied with subtle notes of lemon in the finish/aftertaste. Clean & nice.

Kitanagasa Ale 5% is the house beer at Hop Stand made exclusively for them by Rokko Beer. It pours a clear deep gold with a thick head of foam. The nose is spicy, grassy, lemoney hops. Raspy carbonation on a light body. The taste is spicy green lemon with ultra-mild malt character. Light and refreshing. Think an overhopped everyday blond ale or a solid pale ale.

On tap at Brewpub Starboard. Z Cassis Beer, 5% 10 IBU, which poured a deep purple with a vivid pink head. A waxy tart cassis aroma tantalized my olfactory sense. Scrappy carbonation and a lush vinous wine like tartness. Really interesting, it reminds me of Minoh’s Cabernet Ale. I liked it, easy drinking.
