Description

375ml wired cork bottle from Camperdown Cellars, Sydney. Opened with a pop. Orangey golden colour, white foam head that quickly dissipates to a thin rim and aroma of apple, fruit, barnyard funk. Taste is sweet, appley, ripe fruity, with some orchardy funk, apple skin, tartness ,and earthy tannin. Medium bodied, medium foamy carbonation, drying funky tart & tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.

1.5l magnum for Soph's birthday 🎈 Misty gold complexion, moderate fine carbonation. Aroma of harvest fruit, light cider barn hints. Excellent fruit profile with a soft tannic grip, getting no barnyard funk or horseblanket whatsoever like others before me.. just a great, straightforward, balanced medium cidre.

75cl bottle from Manoir de Kinkiz. Pours a relatively clear gold. Aroma of autumn orchard, cellar, farmyard, myriad apple fruit. Flavour profile presents a really great combination of flavours, farmyard, overripe apple mush, cellar dust, wooden barrel and a light tannic on the finish. Such great balance, moderate fine carbonation, really comes together very well. Love it.

75cl bottle @ Manoir de Kinkiz, Brittany. Pours a pale gold, spritzy fine carbonation. Aroma of rich, juicy, sweet guilevic fruit, a little dry on the palate but with great guilevic character shining well. Great SV.

Clear & corked wine bottle from Astor Wines(or is the glass very yellow?) Had this once or twice 7-8-9 years ago when Astor would do the cider week festivals. Proper bottle to whine about @home. 5%ABV. Mojito glass seems fair. Good fizz, a bit farty. The glass is indeed clear, as the cider is intensely piss-y gold for lack of better adjectives. Sulfur/old egg, sweet, iron, barnyard, leathery, but macerated & deep apple essence as well. Essentially dry in texture, but very much sweet. Floral, quince, super parching tea-bag tannins, browned apple sugary-ness. Middling bitterness, almost gentle tartness. Spotty acidity start to finish. Mineral-y on the end. Lasting trace of brown sugar sweetness. Not too sweet overall, but contrasting with the drying texture. Starchy body, soft bubbles but strong carbonation, stronger than anticipated, popsicle sticks, sulftite buzz but not too crazy. Higher perceived acid than in most other more popular French ciders I've tried. Aside from the heavy barnyard stink, it tastes really good.

Bottle shared at sjogro's birthday. Clear light golden with some bubbles. Fresh crisp apple, light sugary juice, pear, white grape, dry mineral funk. Under medium sweet, light tart and bitter. Medium bodied with oily feel and sparkly carbonation. Lovely.

Bottle shared on 40th birthday, in the sun, on the roof. Clear yellow with white bubbly head. Sweet and tart apple, icy and fresh, light lemony, some soft green herbal leafy touch, a bit of white wine, wood and tannins. Medium sweet and tart. Medium body. Some light oily feel with fine fizzy carbonation. Very nice. --- Beer merged from original tick of La Cuvée Blanche on 07 May 2020 at 19:04 - Score: 8.
