Bottle at Chris_o Shindig. Gold, lasting beige head. Hoppy strong European lager. Lots of hops in the PNW imperial pilsner style. It’s very in your face. Good or bad? Nice hop, very silly, but I do like those grapefruity piney hops even if it is crude. 4.0/5.0 re-rate Bottle from Beer Merchants.com. For ages I couldn’t tell why I liked this so much. Yes it reminded me of 3 Monts, a big blond. The cascade and amarillo hop aroma is outstanding. Strong, but not too mcuh. It has the drinkability of a pilsner, some really good smooth creamy mouthfeel and then porper bitter on the finish. I can’t believe it’s 8%.

The flavors of an imperial stout, but the alcohol and dryness of a stout. Black body with big-bubbled, tan head. Rich aroma of roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate. The flavor is lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Very dry finish along with a coffee bitterness. Medium body and slightly watery texture. Velvety mouthfeel. Excellent.

Poured deathly, oily black with deep tan head. The aroma on this was a complete shock. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma obviously, but a distinct pine hop aroma that compliments the other aromas and adds a complexity. The aroma really makes the mouth water. Flavor was what you might expect, chocolate, cherries, malt, expresso, nuts. Finish is really smooth, extremely drinkable, with only a lasting coffee bitterness and a little chalky in the mouth. Some of the recent ratings suggest that maybe this beer is slipping in the top 50, or that maybe they overpaid for this bomber, I can’t say either. This beer was worth every penny I paid and lived up to all of my expectations. This is a stout lover’s stout. I highly recommend.

Thanks to Christian for this one! This produces a tan head over a medium brown body. Dusty malt and hops aroma. Chocoalte malt flavor with a dry hop finish. Moderate bitterness which is high for a brown ale - but to the better and this balances it out quite nicely. Nice take on the style.

500ml bottle, thanks to Phil_L for this one. Hazy red/brown, lasting beige head. PNW hop aroma, some red berry malt. Some sticky toffee too, which carries on into mouth, along iwth resinous hop, which turns piney and grapefruity hot hop finish. Slightly sticky and sweet actually. Fine, but not as awesome as I expected.

Thanks to Christian (Mkkeller) for bringing this one from Denmark! This bottle lost half it’s contents on the hopper flight from Atlanta to Nashville. No bottle number. Pours opaque black with no head. Cocoa, vanilla, and dark roast coffee mix in the aroma. Complex tasty brew that completely hides the alcohol.

Bottl.e Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Clody brown colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Not too smoked but really nice. Long powerfull complex finish. Creamy palate. Good stuff.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Charcoal black body, medium to thick ochre head. Deep, complex aroma of coffee, rich roasted malts, chocolate, molasses, smoke, and hints of dried dark fruit. Vinous. The flavor wasn’t quite as impressive, but was excellent nonetheless, with plenty of bitter coffee beans backed by slightly sweet burnt brown sugars, licorice, and roasted malts. Bitter, somewhat astringent finish. The touch of fruity sweetness beneath the bitter roast and coffee is a big plus. Very good beer.

Hazy dark orange color, good thick creamy off-white head. Fresh pinewood-hoppy aroma: Amarillo hops. Is this pilsener? (yes technically, lager yeast used) Reminds me about Stadin Amarillo IPA - very nice American style hopping, lots of chewie malts. Not overly hoppy, beer is also enjoyable drinking despite of high ABV - I would say also that not too many IBUs. Not much to do with pilsners but really excellent brew!

Thick, creamy, beige head leaving a fine lacey film above dark brown beer, fully opaque. Very fruity nose with background hints of both chocolate and coffee. Dark, ripe fruit as plums, grapes, but also peaches and medlars; alcohol and some serious fusels. Fruity, sweet background malts at first, followed by serious bitterness, on the verge of metallic. Bitter dark chocolate, overripe plum, pipe tobacco. Long bitter, chocolatey aftertaste. Full bodied, velvety MF, hint of alcoholwarming. Rich ideosyncratic Mikkeller brew: overhopped, powerful. Aromatically speaking fruity-estery, but flavourwise, the full bitter chocolate dominates.
