Can shared. Clear golden with short lasting small fizz. Very dry dusty apple, light funk, dry oak, apple peel, light cow, hay, moss, light alcohol. Light bitter and very light tart. About medium bodied with soft carbonation and very dry finish. Brut nature stuff here. But nice to see a NZ cidery going on the funky path.

Can at Maakun’s. Pale straw with no head. Apples! Pretty dry and hard, elderflower, light spicy herbal elderflower notes. Light sweet moderate bitter, light tart apple. Very nice elderflower touch on a good dry apple base. Like it. --- Beer merged from original tick of Elderflower on 23 Aug 2018 at 20:34 - Score: 7. Original review text: Can at Maakun’s. Can shared at home. Almost clear light golden with almost no head. Fresh clean lightly tart apple juice, light elderflower on the nose but it’s faint in the taste, soft minerals and light cellar funk. Under medium sour, light sweet and very light bitter. Over light bodied with soft sparkly carbonation.

Not kir but just cider with blackcurrant. Can at Volstead. Clear deep purple with short lasting light purple head. Lots of sweet and tart black currants, dry apple, light tart apple, apple peel, soft earthy, green apples. Just lots of nice apple and black currants with light fermentation notes. Under medium sweet and sour, very light bitter. Over light bodied. Very nice.

Poured at Shelton Festival, gold with small white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is apple skin and floral. Thin body, pear, apple, oak, light dry finish, very good

Can shared in our van. Almost clear dark red with soft dark pink fizz. Light tart green apple, boysenberries (though I’ve never actually had one), soft tart red currants, apple peel, soft grass. Almost medium sour, under medium sweet and light bitter. Light bodied with sparkly carbonation. Nice!

500ml bottle. 5.1%. Dark red colour, short-lived fizzy pink foam head and fruity blackcurrant aroma. Taste is sweet, blackcurrant, apple, tart, formic acid, citric, woody, red wine, drying. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tart finish. Nicely drinkable.

500ml bottle from Hop Burns & Black. Pours a generally clear gold with light mist, thin bubbly topping. No discernible aroma. Oily on the palate, relatively light with smooth, mellow fruity lime and feijoa accents. Medium sweet, accessible, mainstream fruit cider... not particularly exciting, but vaguely interesting to see what a feijoa tastes like.
