Refrigerated brown bomber, bottle on July 31, 2015 from FlandersNed poured into a weizen glass. Opaque medium brown with light brown and small beige head. Aroma is caramel & banana, medium body, low/medium carbonation, and some small-bubble lacing. Taste is big caramel, banana, some chocolate, and a little alcohol. Glad I got to try it, but pricey.

On tap at the Huron Room. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of bitter citrus and pine with some sweet grains underlying. Flavor has more pine with a resinous bite and some citrus and sweet grains backing.

Can. Murky amber with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of raw grain, citrus, floral hops. Hint of caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Taste of citrus and floral hops, grapefruit. Lingering bitterness. The balance of malt and hop flavors is muddled.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/26/2016. Pours hazy medium orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, fairly creamy, and slightly slick balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is a great DIPA! All around great Great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the big ABV. Very vibrant and pretty juicy on hops; with a nice malt backbone, that is not too sweet. A very enjoyable offering.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 1/28/2016. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, raisin, plum, fig, light smoke/char/licorice, herbal, and roast/char earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, raisin, plum, fig, light smoke/char/licorice, herbal, and roast/char earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and herbal/spicy hop bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, molasses, toasted dark bread, dark fruit, herbal, and roast/char earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from hop/char bitterness, that increases through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and very full bodied; with a very creamy/silky, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Alcohol is well hidden with a small warmth lingering after the finish, with minimal booziness. Overall this is an awesome Russian imperial stout style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malt and moderate fruity yeast/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the huge ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
