"Alt-Bamberg Zwickl", Flasche von REWE, Bad Staffelstein. - Dunkleres Goldbraun, trüb. - Recht schwache Nase mit blaß krautigem Hopfen und leicht muffigem Malz. - Antrunk matt karamelmalzig mit etwas flauer fruchtig-krautiger Hopfenherbe. Traubenzuckerähnliche Restsüße; leichte muffig-ranzige Züge (tote Hefe?). Milder rezent. Im Abgang süßsauer und viel zu wenig herb. - Fades Kellerbier-Imitat ohne Tiefgang und Pep aus einer nicht existierenden "Braumanufactur", im Grunde genommen Schwindel.

'Guest' bottle at the brewpub. Pours hazy ochre with a lasting, foamy off-white head. Straightforward aroma of banana, bubblegum, yeast, clove, bread & butter, wheat, honey. It tastes medium to heavy malty sweet, lots of banana, bread & butter, honey, and light spicy bitter, clove-like; sour wheaty accents. Dry, shortish, spicy finish, lingering wheat & yeasty banana. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Inviting sweet aroma, but not the best tastewise.

Bottle. Murky amber, offwhite stable cream. Relatively neutral nose: Light mineral, a hint fruit, a hint bakers yeast. Medium to light body, sparkly mouthfeel. Light fruity/juicy malt base, light orange, a bit hay, boring grassy finish. Fails to commit to any flavor really.

Bottle. Pretty ruby brown, brown lace. Honey, chocolate roasted grains, medium light, mellow body, a bit thin. Dry chocolate roast, chocolate bars on the palate, coffee roast, toasted bread, classic hop aromatics. Coffee retronasal. Interesting one.

Bottle. Pale green-golden, low carbonation, low lace. Nice flowery hop aroma. Medium light body, somewhat undercarbonated for a Pils. Fry cracker-malt base, very nice flowery and citric hop finish with a light grassy aftertaste. My favourite Alt-B. so far.

Bottle. Cloudy yellow, fine white foam. Franconian spicy aromatics: Clove, minerals, light bubblegum. Medium body, slightly fizzy. Light mealy malt, a bit fruit-salad, dry banana and spice finish.

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Totally clear light amber with big off white head. Bready, dusty hops, caramel, soft dried fruits, soft raw cocoa. Medium sweet and bitter. Over medium malty body with soft carbonation. OK.

Bottled. Clear mahogany colour, mid sized head. Caramelly bready nose. Bready and caramelly, Totally non-golden, rather dark copper colour. Roasty and toasty. Mod bitter finish. I assume this is simply a label, and somebody mananged to pull a dunkel down the wrong bottle? Generic dunkel, not reallty in the vicinity of proper Bamberg stuff.
