Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty brown color ale with a large head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of solid malt notes with light caramel and some light fruity ester. Taste is better then expected with notes of a solid malt backbone with semi-sweet caramelized notes and some light fruity ester with a bready yeast strain. Body is quite full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed and easily drinkable.

From tap at Saint Bock as Ecole Buissnniere (RJ) Blonde. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and slight cornish, Bitter, cornish and grassy flavoured. Bitter and dry herbal finish.

bottle - Gold pour, bubbly, has very minimal aroma. The flavor is of sweet cereal malt with no detectable hops. It’s light bodied and utterly disappointing. Is this brew the Bud of Quebec?

From tap at Saint Bock. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is estery to phenolic and light wheaty. Bubblegum, yeasty and phenolic. Dry, peppery and estery flavoured. Dry and estery into the finish.

Toffee a bit, chewy caramel, very mild smokiness and a slight sweet feel to round things off. Some spicy cloves and not much bread presence.

Bottled shared by Kinz at the 15th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 7/16/11. Pours a hazy orange color with a medium sized creamy offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Huge spice notes in the aroma. The taste is strong clove, strong coriander and citrus. Medium bodied. Way too overspiced. I think someone said this was like sucking on potpourri. I’d agree with that.

Bottle shared by Kinz at the 15th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 7/16/11. Pours a clear amber color with a thin head that fades quickly. Aroma is kinda dirty with faint notes of grainy malts. The taste is tart, grainy malts and citrus. Not a good beer.

Came in a Brasseurs RJ tester 6-pack with their Cannon and Lochness. When I twisted the cap off, most of the beer came foaming out (so be careful out there). Pours a cloudy brown colour with a decent head that does not stay long, and leaves a little lace. Yeast is seen floating around and going to the bottom of the glass. Beautiful nose of spices, dark malts and Belgian yeast. Dark fruits taste with the spices and Belgian strong beer notes. A pretty good brew for Brasseurs RJ and representation of the style (for a bigger brewery).
