Description
In 1998, La Brasserie An Alarc’h (swan in Breton) moved to the Monts d'Arrée, in Huelgoat. At the end of the first 7 years, the brewery found itself in difficulty and its founder decided to sell An Alarc’h to SCOP Tri Martolod, which was in charge of straightening and developing it. In 2015, the brewery moved to La Feuillée and Rod, a new partner comes to support the growth of the brewery.

A 330ml bottle brought in Brittany in 2009 and tasted as one of my different bottles of beers in my home. A amber colour with a white foamy head. aromas of coriander & spice. Taste is less exciting mostly apple. Low bitterness.

Old rating - Draft pour, 5.6%. It's red / brown with a off white head. Aromas & tastes of caramel, dark fruits, caramel, hints of smoke & malt. Medium body. Long moderate bitter finish

Bottle (from Saveur Biere). Deep brown, close to black, colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head. Aroma is liquorice, some ashes, mild spiciness as well as some tobacco and mild wooden tones. Flavour is liquorice, some ashes, mild toffee, tobacco leafs with some mild roasted malty tones. Somewhat dry palate.

Bottled. Slightly hazy amber colour with a mediumsized beige head. Aroma is toffee, fruity, mild diacetyl with some wooden tones. Flavour is toffee, fruity, some vanilla and mild toasted and diacetyl tones to it.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with small to average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of dark chocolate, treacle, some caramel, malt lozenge, a minimally yeasty spicy marmite touch. Taste is slighty dry, roasty-spicy, dark malty, subtle sweetness, notes of coffee and dark chocolate, a touch of caramel and treacle, liquorice, lingering bitter hoppy finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth, soft and silky palate. Delivers an adequate Impy Stout impression at only 7% abv.

From bottle at La ruée vers l’orge in Paris with BB. 13.07.17. Black. Foamy brown head and lacing. Moderate aroma with a hint of prunes, roasted malt and liquorice. Similar tate, with bitterness of sap and pine lingering on. Also a hint o vanilla. Dry.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark copper colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Nuttily malty and fruity hoppy aroma, hints of red berries, minimally earthy and herbal-spicy hints of corresponding shrubs, a waxy touch. Taste is bitter hoppy, fruity and slightly earthy herbal-spicy, nuttily malty basis, hints of red berries, a waxy touch; overcarbonated.
