About
In 1998, La Brasserie An Alarc’h (swan in Breton) moved to the Monts d'Arrée, in Huelgoat. At the end of the first 7 years, the brewery found itself in difficulty and its founder decided to sell An Alarc’h to SCOP Tri Martolod, which was in charge of straightening and developing it. In 2015, the brewery moved to La Feuillée and Rod, a new partner comes to support the growth of the brewery.

3/VIII/16 - 33cl bottle from Abbaye des Saveurs (Lille) @ home - BB: 10/VII/17 (2016-810)

Clear dark brown to black beer, big fizzy beige to brown beer, falls down to a small foamy rocky head, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, roasted, hint of ripe banana, dried fruits, dark chocolate, bit metallic. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish in the start, malty, soft roast, hoppy touch, citrus. Aftertaste: metallic, very roasted, bitter, somewhat fruity, dried fruits, still rather sourish, coffee grit, grains. So much flavour for such a low abv (hey, I'm Belgian!) stout, I love it!

Black/brown tan head. Big sweet roasted near burnt choco malt. Licorice, molasses, tobacco, blueberries, rubber, glue, ash. Sweet, w/medium bitter counterpart. Full body, low carb. Fruity & tobacco hints are nice, that rubber boot finish -- not so much.

33cl Bottle at camping Kost-Ar-Moor. Black with brown tan head. Big sweet roasted near burnt chocolate malt. Licorice, molasses, tobacco, blueberries, rubber, glue, ash. Bottled. Cloudy golden, rich head. Fruity floral nose. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Lightly spritzy with some dough and grass. Low bitterness. Harmonious.

Dark brown color, small steady beige head, lace. Aroma has licorice, ash and hints of cardboard. Medium to full-bodied. Licorice, ash, even tobacco. Sweetish finish. Simple straightforward imperial stout.

Bottle at tasting. Dark pour. Aroma of sweet malt and licorice mostly. Taste of sweet malt, sweet coffee, licorice and some subtle hop bitters. Solid.

Sampled from bottle at Borresteijn’s place. Pitch black with a tan head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, some almond, chocolate and nuts. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, chocolate, some nuts and almond, followed by a short, slightly roasty-bitter finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay.
