Can and draft. Deep golden body with a frothy white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruit, toasted grain with hint of pine and resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Lots of flavor — mango, tropical fruit, grapefruit, pine finish. Well balanced. Crisp. Clean malts. Very nice.

Draft. Amber body with a short, off-white head. Light aroma of toasted grain, herbs, caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Hard to pull classic English qualities out of this ESB. There’s caramel from the malts, but anything from the yeast is muted.

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 11/8/2016. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, berry, light pepper/pine, honey, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, berry, light pepper/pine, honey, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, grapefruit, berry, light pepper/pine, honey, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.6%. Overall this is an outstanding pale ale! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt sweetness; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. Amazing and enormous on tropical hop flavors, very vibrant and juicy. A highly enjoyable offering.

Can. Pours a clean gold with a thin head and aromas that faintly bring pineapple and pears to the table. Flavor is lightly fruity with pineapple, mango and pears bearing the load. It’s decent enough.

One style that Blackrocks loves to do and do variants of, yes, their beloved brown ale. Now this brown is one that they did just the way they always wanted to.
Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a muddy burnt brown color with a crisp white thin head. Sticky lacing starts but ends up sliding a little bit here and there.
The aroma is quite magical. It’s everything a brown ale could possibly be for coffee and chocolate lovers. Yes, those sweet yet roasty aromatics hit against a light smoke and then smooths out with a little bit of vanilla.
The flavor takes those previously mentioned aromas to move in a refined sweet manner and right on into the aftertaste and enlightens a quick sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a moveable sweet crisp semi-sticky sessionability about it. Carbonation feels spot on.
Overall, not only one of Blackrocks’ best beers but is probably top notch for its style.

The aroma leans earthy hops with an underscore of clean toast to biscuit malts. Subtle grassiness.
The flavor leans towards the earthy and a crisp malty sweetness. Earthiness and malts play with the aftertaste and find its way into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a sly sessionability about it. Carbonation sits at a nice pace.
