Bottle at De Drie Dorstige Herten, Utrecht. Aroma is very malty for an IIPA with sweetish ripe fruits and caramel, mild hoppy. Flavour is medium sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Decent beer, but I like my IIPA a lot more refreshing and hoppy.

A small bottle from the off-licence opposite the fire station in Jing Mei. Aroma: cheap strawberry jam. Appearance: opaque copper, one finger tan bubbles. Palate: medium-bodied and slick, average carbonation; finish is long and tart, borderline sour. Taste: lightly sweet; the label mentions passion fruit and mango, I get underripe generic citrus fruit. I didn't really enjoy this one.

Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. Il colore è giallo dorato carico. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è intenso. La forza gustativa è elevata e la durata è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano luppolate. Il retrogusto è intenso. L'aroma in bocca porta in bocca l'aroma di miele, crosta di pane, frutta secca, luppolo, resina, pino, agrumi, pompelmo, ananas, mango, frutta tropicale, marmellata di arance, frutto della passione, mandarino e albicocca.

Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma che resiste abbastanza. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido appare opalescente. Il colore è ambrato. Il corpo è pieno. Il dolce è medio. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è normale e si prolunga in modo sufficiente. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. In bocca l'aroma è quello di zuccherino, miele, agrumi, mango, frutto della passione, frutta tropicale e mandarino.

La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido è di consistenza limpida. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è pieno. L'amaro è di media potenza e c'è anche una componente leggermente acidula. La forza gustativa è elevata e la persistenza. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di pronta beva. Il retrogusto è di decente intensità. Al palato finiscono sentori di miele, frumento, agrumi, arancia amara, spezie, ananas, mandarino, albicocca, pesca e banana.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is chewy malt, bread, caramel, bit candied fruits, yeast, toffee, spicy notes. Flavour is medium sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is a sturdy medium. Smooth and refined bready malty fruity beer, very enjoyable.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is slightly tartish fruits, citrus, hops, floral notes, touch of yeast, malt, light touch of stone fruits. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a hint of tartness. Body is medium. Nice Belgian IPA.

Bottle from Beergium. Aroma is sweetish candied fruits, wheat, citrus, spicy Belgian yeast, coriander, ripe banana. Flavour is sugary sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Citrussy and candied, fairly sweet, not a bad Hefe/Wit hybrid, but I’m not tempted to chug half a litre of it like a prime German Hefeweizen.
