(8ottle, 0.33 l - BB 05/16, at Koht, 20150926) The beer poured amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, citricness and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A way too hoppy and sweet for an ESB. A rather harsh brew.

Proto 01 is a Berliner Brusseleir Weisse that is 4% and 12 IBU. This is a prototype that didn’t make the cut to become a regular beer. In 2014, that honor went to, ? . It pours a cloudy deep gold with a soapy head of thick white foam. The nose is tart, spicy, lemon and hints of catpiss. A raspy carbonation on a light body. It’s got a refreshing flavor, lemon, earthy brett with metallic accents and some tartness. It’s also got an earthy nutty edge to it. Once it warms up you get some woodsy hop character as well. Quite a nice summer beer, maybe a new version will show up as a summer seasonal someday... Past its best but still pleasant.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, brownish darkest red colour with huge, creamy, fully lasting, moderately lacing, ochre-ish, beige head. Spicy grassy, piney, hoppy aroma, a floral touch, hints of orange-flavoured dark chocolate. Taste has a dry, roasty dark malty basis, a thick, citrusy fruity layer with notes of orange above, piney and minimally floral hoppy overtones above, a resinous touch, subtle sweetness; even more complexity by minimally unpleasant, sporadic flashes of glue and purulence.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 14.09.15 and at Brussels Beer Project tasting at Cardinal 23.03.16. Cloudy, dark brown. Foamy and dense pale brown head. Aroma of oranges, citrus and marmelade. And dark caramel, leather and grapefruit, Similarly interesting taste. A beer to be analyzed rather than quaffed. Fizzy carbonation.
