Description
Bellwoods Brewery began as a small brewpub in the west end of Toronto in 2012, and underwent a couple modest growth spurts over the years to encompass two retail shops (selling fresh cans and bottles), and a production brewery in North York (mostly to house The Foeder Pyramid). These days, we produce about 18,000hL a year, which is a mere blip in the grand scheme of Ontario beer, but keeps us pretty busy. The styles we’re interested in brewing range greatly, and we always remain open to new ways of making beer. For the most part, our current efforts are devoted to aromatic hoppy stuff, crisp lagers, barrel aged wild blends, fruit-forward zingers, and the occasional barrel aged stout. There’s always a new, creative project waiting in the wings. We’re still a relatively small, collaborative team, forever dedicated to the pursuit of perfect beer–thanks so much for partaking in the fruits of our labour.

I've been waiting for the right moment to drink this beer, and the time is now. Pours a nice pink, with yellow undertones, thanks to that prickly pear. Head to a ring, with some fairly low carbonation. Some nice funky notes on the nose, a little tropical fruit too. Taste is very tropical fruit juice, fairly mild malt, with the sourness coming as pith, and a little funkiness but not that strong. Wondering if I'm doing this beer a disservice, the bottle is marked July 2024. I feel should have hit this one fresher.

Flaska. Snuskigt god suröl med mycket funk, relativt hög fruktsötma, bärkärnor, lätt smörig. Märker inte mycket av torrhumlingen mem vad gör det. Surt godis för vuxna!

473 ml can. Pours amber with light head. Aromas of doughy malts, soft resiny pine, breadfruit, and a little tropical fruit. Flavors of bitter grapefruit, pineapple, and bready malts with just a bit of pine. A nice IPA, but just a bit too malty and soft for me.
