Description
Bellwoods Brewery began as a small brewpub in the west end of Toronto in 2012, and underwent a couple modest growth spurts over the years to encompass two retail shops (selling fresh cans and bottles), and a production brewery in North York (mostly to house The Foeder Pyramid). These days, we produce about 18,000hL a year, which is a mere blip in the grand scheme of Ontario beer, but keeps us pretty busy. The styles we’re interested in brewing range greatly, and we always remain open to new ways of making beer. For the most part, our current efforts are devoted to aromatic hoppy stuff, crisp lagers, barrel aged wild blends, fruit-forward zingers, and the occasional barrel aged stout. There’s always a new, creative project waiting in the wings. We’re still a relatively small, collaborative team, forever dedicated to the pursuit of perfect beer–thanks so much for partaking in the fruits of our labour.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours a deep purple, with a medium pinkish head. Aroma is lactic and tart, a bit of funky and some subtle blueberry. Mouth feel is bright, and crisp, with a solid carb. Finish is medium tart, blueberries are subtle, but there, hut they are getting lost in the funky lactic notes. Good, but not great.

Hazy yellow, small white head. Super sweet fruity aroma. Passion fruit and stone fruit abound. Low bitterness, citrus, and sweet tropical notes. Not much in way of a sour ipa going on.
