Description
Bellwoods Brewery began as a small brewpub in the west end of Toronto in 2012, and underwent a couple modest growth spurts over the years to encompass two retail shops (selling fresh cans and bottles), and a production brewery in North York (mostly to house The Foeder Pyramid). These days, we produce about 18,000hL a year, which is a mere blip in the grand scheme of Ontario beer, but keeps us pretty busy. The styles we’re interested in brewing range greatly, and we always remain open to new ways of making beer. For the most part, our current efforts are devoted to aromatic hoppy stuff, crisp lagers, barrel aged wild blends, fruit-forward zingers, and the occasional barrel aged stout. There’s always a new, creative project waiting in the wings. We’re still a relatively small, collaborative team, forever dedicated to the pursuit of perfect beer–thanks so much for partaking in the fruits of our labour.

Beer Witch: pours hazy yellow with white head. Aroma is mango and tangerine. Taste is fruity and quite juicy. Lightly sour. Well put together without being too sweet or anything.

Flarra stor ölprovning med Sommelieren . Här har vi körsbär samt lingon och bourbon samt starkvin och mörk mjölkchoklad . Riktigt god . 😋 Redigt jävla välbalanserad . Ingen torr kaffesump här inte.

Very pale yellow with a fizzy white head. Earthy, light citrus, acidic, a bit tart, light grass, yeast. Thin, fizzy body. Finish has a touch of tart lemon. Very refreshing with a tart crispness. Highly enjoyable with plenty of flavor for the low abv.

Lightly hazed, light golden with a foamy white cap, average stay and some soapy lacing spots. Mild sourness in the nose from lemon juice, decent zestiness, some peppery spiciness, other citrus notes and a touch of saltiness. The habanero are felt in the taste, but more on flavours, not on spiciness. Nice lime blending along with the tad salt in the finish. Hints of pepper lingers with a bit of tart left. Another nice limited version of the Jelly King.

A stop at Bellwoods while in Toronto is a tradition of mine… Bellwoods BBA Hellwoods Imperial Stout 12.6% 10$ for 5 Oz. Deep ruby black with wispy tan foam and a big bourbon sweet aroma full of boozy heat. The taste is dark chocolate syrup and bourbon. Silky smooth with a slightly tough boozy finish that expresses the bourbon and chocolate wafer notes. Good stuff.
