0.75 l bottle from 'Bergmann Stehbierhalle', 2013 vintage at 6.9% abv, best before August 2023. Almost clear, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, intensely fruity, slightly resiny and minimally soapy aroma of orange jam, mango, some pine and a touch of honey. Quite sweet, malty, moderately bitter, rather fruity, gently floral and slightly resiny taste of orange jam, caramel, honey, grapefruit and some pine, followed by a short, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nicely hoppy Maibock, fits perfectly into spring.

330ml bottle. Clear, orange golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy and strawy, pale malty and minimally grassy, hoppy aroma. Taste is slightly strawy, pale malty, a touch of light caramel, mildly bitter, grassy hoppy counterpart. Minimally oily, watery texture, smooth and slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Feels really like the 70s, you might even believe you could taste some cigarette smoke impregnated train station pub ambience - authentic, not good.

Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass with a small head. Starts mild, roasty-malty, not too sweet. Fine earthy-woody notes, mild bitterness. Well balanced roasty-malty finish. Not bad.
