Draught @ Thuisbrunner Elch-Bräu, Thuisbrunn 11, Thuisbrunn, Bavaria Germany 91322.Served in stein weisse krug .. so appearance have to be take with a bit of ... medium orange yellow colour with a average to large, creamy to frothy, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, wheat, moderate to light light heavy yeasty, fruity, banana, bubble gum, yeasty. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, fruity, yeasty, banana, caramel, fresh, fruity tart notes. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft. [20130509]

Tapped: Golden, cloudy, stable creamy off-white head; moderate fresh-sourish citrussy nose with a light wheaty-yeasty touch; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, soft. medium bodied; sweetish-sourish lemony finish with a light tartness in the aftertaste. Really good and refreshing.....

Mild röstiger, ziemlich trockener Antrunk. Das Malz kann sich wegen der Trockenheit nicht ausbreiten, ob es das unter anderen Umständen tun würde, ist aber fraglich. Wenig fruchtig, marginal hopfig. Im Mittelteil bereits langweilig, das Malz wird schwächer, das Bier verlässt sicha aber vollkommen auf dieses Aroma und hat der drohenden Wässrigkeit nichts entgegenzusetzen. Zum Ende ist das Malz fast verschwunden, als ein geringer Röstschub daherkommt, der das Gazne noch einmal helbwegs belebt. 11/8/7/7/9/7

Eässrig herber Antrunk, in dem der Hopfen so gut wie nichts zu melden hat. Die Aromenarmut bleibt leider erhalten, sowieso ist nur die Herbe präsent, die sich immerhin spät verändert und wenig Hopfigkeit aufweist. Dennoch monoton, nicht einmal wirklich spritzig. Langweilig. 8/5/7/4/7/6

Betont herber Antrunk, in dem malzige Bocknoten erst einmal unwichtig sind. Auch später scheinen Hopfen und dezente Bitterkeit wichtiger, das Malz bleibt weiterhin im Hintergrund und wirkt nur wenig würzig. Minimal schokoladig wird das Bier im hinteren Teil, Hopfen und Malz vereinen sich. Der Hintergrund ist dafür wässriger, bis die Bitterkeit sich dorthin begibt. Im Nachgeschmack dringt das Malz erstmals durch und steht noch etwas über dem Hopfen. Interessantes und untypisches Bier! 9/8/8/9/7/9

(swing top bottle) Hazy, amber to copper colour with a beige and big foamy head. Mildly sweet and toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel and (chest-)nuts, accompanied by citric and herbal hops. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Toasty malty and nutty taste with shades of caramel, chocolate and herbal accents; almost dry bitter-sweet finish with a delicate herbal hops character. Balanced and tasty Dunkel. 12.XI.10

(swing top bottle) Hazy, pale golden colour with a blond and huge foamy head. Yeasty and slightly sour doughy pale malty aroma with a tinge of draff, as well as citric and herbal hops. Quite bitter flavour, light bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly yeasty and mildly malty taste with notes of draff and herbal accents; dry and moderately bitter and herbal hoppy finish with citric spots. A roughly hopped Zwickel-Pils. Good. 11.XI.10

Draught at the brewpub. Roasted aroma. Cloudy brown colour. Stable creamy tan head. The flavour is roasted, has a little sourish note as from roasted barley. Vinous and nutty finish.

Cloudy deep amber with a medium beige head. Aroma had roasted malt, caramel and hints of barnyard. Flavour had roasted malt, caramel and dark fruits. Finished fairly sweet.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. A hazy, orangey beer with a beige head. Cellar, some caramel maltyness and a good dash of hops on the nose. Nicely hopped flavor, where the malts are almost left in the background, rather untypical for a bock. Medium body and hoppy finish with medium bitterness. In many ways, this is more reminiscent of an amber ale than a dunkel bock. Quite nice. 090822
