Description
The Brewery was founded in 1367. The brewery has been family-owned since 1879. The owners still maintain the old brewing tradition and the warm hospitality of the Carmelite monastery. The lively mix of yesterday and today, old and new, is increasingly being demanded and valued beyond the borders of our homeland. Carefully selected raw materials, old recipes and the best possible maturation times are the basis for the excellent taste and digestibility of our beer specialties. A high level of craftsmanship and the use of the latest technology guarantee the consistently high quality.

500ml bottle provided by djoeye. Clear burgundy coloured body. One finger thick, off-white head. Clingy lacing. Dark malty nose carefully roasted, some leaves to it. Caramel malts upfront to the taste buds together with details of forest, almond, and noble hops. Smooth malty ending. Soft on the swallow. Peasant dunkel (Tromsø 31.07.2015).

Many thanks for this bottle to kevnic2008. Piana jest tu najlepsza spora z czapeczka i trwala. Kolor zlocisty w smaku jak dla mnie slodkawe zbyt dominujacy slod. Goryczki niewiele. Zapach trawiasty.

Bouteille: Reddish-amber coloured, a bit unclear, small and stable firm off-white head; complex nutty-caramelly nose, distinctive traces of port-wine plus some hoppy spots; solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied, pretty soft; lingering and well balanced nutty-caramelly finish, balanced by a fine hoppy-bitter counterpart in the aftertaste. Devilishly drinkable Doppelbock…

Bottled. Yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is floral, grassy, some slight salty notes along with mild grain. Flavour is grassy and herbal along with some grains and mild bready and biscuity malts to it. Fresh, but nothing that special. Good thirstquencher though.

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, golden colour with a blond diminishing foamy head. Biscuity and slightly grainy malty aroma with notes of honey, caramel and subtle fruity notes of pears, also flowery hoppy accents. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a tame carbonation. Biscuity and honeyish cara-malt character with shades of floral and delicately spicy hops; sweet malty and slightly sticky finish due to a lack of crispiness. Otherwise likeable. 18.XII.14
