Description
The Brewery was founded in 1367. The brewery has been family-owned since 1879. The owners still maintain the old brewing tradition and the warm hospitality of the Carmelite monastery. The lively mix of yesterday and today, old and new, is increasingly being demanded and valued beyond the borders of our homeland. Carefully selected raw materials, old recipes and the best possible maturation times are the basis for the excellent taste and digestibility of our beer specialties. A high level of craftsmanship and the use of the latest technology guarantee the consistently high quality.

Bottle. Dark amber with medium tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel, toasted, fruit and a little nut. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, medium sweet, little nut, little bread and a little bitter.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Clear brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and fruity. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish. 121013

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Medium head with medium duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich fruits, caramel, malt and hops. Nice and sweet.

Flaska från Systembolaget. Mahognyfärgad klar vätska med gräddvitt skum. Dofter av fruktkaka, russin och bär. Söt smak med ett lite för framträdande alkoholinslag. Nästan som en brittisk barley wine. Tunn eftersmak.

(bottle) Clear, ruby brown colour with a solid tanned foamy head. Toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel and a nutty and doughy touch. Mildly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-matured carbonation. Moderately toasted malty taste with caramel and present nutty notes; sweet and rounded mildly bitter hoppy finish with caramel and nuts in the aftertaste. Pleasant. 05.X.13

Pours golden with a small white head. Aroma is slight malty and cornish. vague butterish. Sweet and cornish flavoured.

500ml bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais. Clear dark brown with thick beige head. Some sweetness some mustiness, maybe a bit of oxidisation. Sweetish a bit sickly. Malty, tastes as though it’s not fully attenuated. Bit of warmth on finish. Not a great doppelbock just about drinkable.

Aroma is quite light with hay, honey and grainy notes. Flavour has honey, herbs, grainy malt and nettles. Also hints of grass. Decent helles.
